Multiplying and spreading is the underlying problem surrounding the global Coronavirus outbreak in this world.
Wisely isolating, social distancing and protection are key to the Government’s strategy to inhibiting the contagion, spread and outcomes of this harmful disease.
The virus being a non living resilient protein molecule that can wreak such havoc and cause normal living cells to mutate and work against the body with varying results. Sadly with a proportion of these attacks devastatingly ending in deaths and such social pain and hardship.
Our submitting to this National command Is vital in stemming this outbreak. Our responsibility in the fight against this outbreak is paramount to ending it.
Hence our countries are locked down in desperate attempts to halt and draw an end to the contagion that violates us.
As always, as a Christian, I can’t help but see how things of the world seem reversed to those of God’s Kingdom.
I see a parable type story here of a virus akin to Satan and causing harm to us. Also our battle and resilience to stop that and to be free from the fear and safe again. Freedom!
Multiplication in the Kingdom, however, is normally good. Where good true seeds are sown to multiply. A hundred fold multiplication and provide abundant harvests to provide generously for all we need.
Stories of famines remind us that sometimes the seeds are sown in tears by hungry people, with empty stomachs, who would love to eat their handful of seed rather than cast it and have to wait the seasons through to the plentiful harvest when there can be reaping with joy!
Waiting we know can be hard, especially when we may be in a place of crisis. Trusting and being thankful for every thing turns the tide on despair and Seasons do change.
As illustrated above, In our life time each one of us can be pregnant with goodness and faith. Giving birth to goodness and faith in others and they in their turn giving birth.
So that by, the simple binary fission form of reproduction, one becomes two, but two become four, four become eight and so on and the multiplication and outbreak we see is not meant for harm but for good.
The harvest fields will be ripe for harvesting and the crop abundant. That is what Jesus taught about God’s kingdom and that is what our hope is even in such a time as this that faith and good is birthed out of the waiting and ashes.
Two scripture verses that come to mind:
Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into the harvest fields. ‘ Matt 9 v 38
‘ He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness’. 2 Cor 9 v10
