I was left wondering at the end of last week if some people were feeling a little deflated. A time where several were beginning to comprehend more the sense of the inevitable of getting back to normal was not going to happen as soon as had first been thought and the normal may have changed its goal posts considerably.
This sense of being gradually awakened to something new. A new which as yet has not been trialed and is on virgin territory. A new which is hard to prepare for because it, as yet, has not been modelled.
There is excitement and anticipation on the horizon in the hopes of perhaps some new innovations, opportunities to wipe the slate clean and start again getting it more perfected on the back of previous mistakes and practices.
There is also the anxiety of wondering what can survive being shaken up?
Some things may be lost and fall by the wayside and would they be replaced by superior or regretted?
There is no doubt In my mind that now is a time to pray and seek wisdom, guidance and assistance.
God is not surprised by current circumstances. He knows the beginning from the end. Indeed maybe now is such a time for us to re-consider what things are the idols of this world that we worship and which are transient. As opposed to the things of His Kingdom which we have let out of our sight.
Already now I think we are reprioritising, in some things, what is important and what is not. It is my belief we do not have to wait for the end of the world to experience heaven. We need not be in the waiting room for death to find heaven.
Heaven is brought to earth and can be tasted here when we are transformed and can see the Kingdom. Praise, worship and prayer are the key to unlocking this place of Love which the enemy and ruler of the world tries to deny us.
Many of us may be in a habit of 24/7 prayer where we converse with the Lord anywhere and at any time doing any job. Jesus does tell us, however, to also find a secret place to communicate with Him it is such a place that I have illustrated above.
The illustration of prayer shows a door leading in from the business of the world with all its snares, tangles and weeds left behind, the door closed upon it.
A place where we quickly lay down our burdens and baggage on the threshold and then unencumbered we come into the presence of the throne room to communicate with Father, Son or Holy Spirit.
The access has been bridged by all that the cross laid down for us, the streams of living water flow under us and through us and the spectrum colours of the Holy Spirit surrounding, also resting upon and within us.
The place where we can listen and discern Jesus and tune into God’s will. Where answers are given, where directions forward become clear, decisions have clarity where love peace and joy wash over us.
A place of heaven on Earth a place of renewal of mind and transformation.
Two scriptures that come to mind:
“But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. Matthew 6:6–7
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Rom 12 v 1
