CORONAVIRUS POSITIVE THOUGHTS. 22 ( Less is Greater, Greater is Less. )

It is far better to build a shelter for a storm before it starts rather than while it is raging. What an advantage people of faith, the church, have in not only their faith in Jesus but also in having insight into Worship and praise.

Jesus is our shelter in the storm.

The very shelter that the world now seeks in the storms of uncertainty and need.

A storm making more ready to heed the still small voice previously brushed aside.

God did not cause the threat to mankind by this pandemic but He is right there to use it and to reveal himself as the light house and anchor.

The refuge and shelter in the storm.

The times when prayers will have been answered in ways out of our realm of imagining at the point of being prayed but mightily answered our minds are too small to imagine.

Yesterday I referred to the place of prayer being one increasingly sought by people just now. Today, because it is so closely akin, I want to refer to worship and praise.

The value of turning away from thoughts that spiral in towards the self and instead to focus on others and toward God is amazing at quelling rising fear.

It takes us on a 180’ full turn around in perspective. The world can be reduced from chaos to order, from darkness to light, again by worship.

Our proximity of closeness to God becomes tangible along with the proximity of the Holy Spirit.

‘Let it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear.

My soul rejoice in Jesus Christ’

My heart and whole being can be transported to a holy, heaven like place where it seems God has also been moved to come down.

A joining of mind, Spirit and soul.

A place of new perspective a choosing to become humbled and of letting lose of the illusion of being in control.

A place of the presence of God’s face not mine feeling His heart of love and compassion and appreciating what we have, not what we have not.

A place of deep peace.

God’s love of imperfect people. His promise that we shall come to no harm makes whatever we are dealing with or asking for surmountable.

A place of power where right now we know that come what may He will heal our land and put an end to this pestilence.

A place for hope for the future.

Already people are seeing an opportunity to not go back but to spring forward into better.
A place where God has already set His all seeing sights.

Daily Praise and worship, for me make this life easier. Especially using contemporary worship songs which lift my spirits and lovely easy translations of The Bible such as The Passion translation which make easy understanding.

For starters the New Testament where you really get to know Jesus and for later the Old when things begin to slot into place.

Modern technology means Audible access if you dislike reading or find it laborious and an ease to flip from one translation to another and get a real enlightenment to the sense and meaning because let’s face it there has been a time for all of us where we thought we couldn’t understand it!

This is Jesus in words our knowledge and understanding deepens by knowing what is written in there.

We might just find we have time now to give it a go. All so easily down loaded for use at any time or place from Apps on our phones or devises.

They have already brought me through the storm and continue to Shelter and uphold me.

The illustration tries to depict the sheer joy of that place with the Spirit found in worship .

The music in your ears becoming words in your heart.

Two scriptures that come to mind:

‘The hour has come when true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. For the Father is seeking such people to worship Him. God is Spirit and those who worship must worship in spirit and in truth.’ James 4 v 21 – 24

‘ If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chron 7 v 14

  1. Thank you Jan, fully agree with what you say. God did not punish us with a virus, He gave us free will. Freedom comes at a cost, many people have different takes on what freedom means, one mans junk is another’s treasure. God is there suffering with His saints, longing for the lost to turn to Him for comfort and reassurance that they are loved by there Heavenly Father. I write these words and what comes to my mind is that for even those of us who are saved and believe and love Him the world can still drag you down and it seems that all is lost, but all it takes is to look up and remember psalm 122 and remember that He is our shelter in the storm and in doing so to cry out to Him who are lost that they may find Him – as it apparently seems so with the amount of people buying the Bible at the moment, may they be enlightened by the simple truth of salvation- God deserves our praise and worship because in doing so it lifts us out of the mire of this world into His presence.
    Thank you Jan
    PS is it John 4
