We have come up against an unexpected obstacle in 2020. Who would have thought on New Years Eve that by May so much would have changed?
It is like we have come up against a brick wall and yes many of us are feeling very enclosed by walls that seem to close in around us.
God’s eye is upon all.
He sees the beginning from the end and He knows all is well and His promises. He wants us to be at peace and also to see with the spiritual eyes of faith.
To remember He is faithful and that if we obey, believe and have faith in Him and what Jesus accomplished all will be well.
Jesus says He is the Alpha and Omega.
An Old Testament story reminds us of a story where there was a problem of coming up against a wall surrounding the city of Jericho. An unexpected obstacle in the way of Joshua and his army accessing what God had promised.
God’s instruction was even more surprising as it entailed them marching round the walls in a different direction each day for 7 days making as much noise as possible.
How mad must that have seemed to both parties, the army and those behind the walls in the city. We know that, as a result of blind obedience, God caused the walls to come tumbling down and the battle was won so unexpectedly, a miracle!
It is my hope that by carrying on in Faith, Trust and Obedience God will bring about another miracle before our very eyes.
God is all seeing behind the walls and barriers seemingly in the world and beyond the walls and barriers of our hearts.
We also must see with spiritual eyes the promises behind the walls. Maybe Seemingly out of sight but still in existence.
Nothing can stop God’s purposes in this world and nothing can stop His purpose for each one of us.
Yes, the wall of Coronavirus has been, is real but we serve a faithful God who knows what is on the other side of the wall.
The illustration of an eye in this circumstance portrays an all seeing God. It also portrays the need for us to keep our eye, our focus upon Him and His faithfulness and to trust and obey.
Two scriptures that come to mind:
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s eyes. Everything is uncovered and expressed. Heb 4 v 13
The eyes of the Lord are in every place,
Watching the evil and the good. Prov15 v 3
