CORONAVIRUS POSITIVE THOUGHTS 29 ( Less is Greater, Greater is less)

“You knit me together in my mother’s womb.“. Psalm 139. V13

God can be trusted is key to us feeling safe come what may. The Lord is always near.

There is much of the above Psalm 139 which brings comfort and awe.

God knew us before we were formed and created us in that place before time, before we were conceived and gave us a purpose that only we could fulfil in the Big Story written in His book.

The quotes are from the Contemporary English Version of the bible CEV which although not as flowery and poetic in its language is a very easy to read version. They come from psalm 139.

Verses 15-16

Nothing about me
is hidden from you!
I was secretly woven together
deep in the earth below,
but with your own eyes
you saw

my body being formed.
Even before I was born,
you had written in your book
everything I would do.

We have faith in what it says in Isaiah that ‘He knows us by name and we belong to Him.’ The image of God knitting, weaving, creating each and everyone of us to His unique pattern and purpose gives us a sense of importance, identity, value and of being no random accident.

‘ I am a child of God ‘

Verses 13-14

You are the one
who put me together
inside my mother’s body,
and I praise you
because of
the wonderful way
you created me.

Everything you do is marvellous! Of this I have no doubt.

There is a wonderful sense that God is right by us always. That there is nowhere that we can go, nothing that could happen to us nor nothing that we can do that would Separate us from Him and His love.

His right arm always surrounds and protects us. However much we may feel we have failed in what we have or have not done He will still be there loving us and there is nowhere we can hide from him.

Verses 10 – 12

Even then your powerful arm
would guide and protect me.
Or suppose I said, “I’ll hide
in the dark
until night comes
to cover me over.”

But you see in the dark
because daylight and dark
are all the same to you.

He knows us inside out there is nothing that would change His unconditional love for us. He would fight to protect us and save us from ourselves or our enemy.

Nothing needs to be hidden from Him, indeed it can’t be! We can stand still and he will fight for our justice and rights. With God on our side we cannot fail.

Our belief and faith in His promises is where our peace and joy come from.

Verses 1-4

You have looked deep
into my heart, Lord,
and you know all about me.
You know when I am resting
or when I am working,
and from heaven
you discover my thoughts.

You notice everything I do
and everywhere I go.
Before I even speak a word,
you know what I will say,

We can marvel that this omnipotent creator of the world can have more thoughts about each one of us planning, guiding and caring for us than there are grains of sand.

Verse 18

I try to count your thoughts,
but they outnumber the grains
of sand on the beach.

God can indeed be trusted to keep us safe and as in the song ‘ No Longer Slaves’

You drown my fears in perfect love
You rescued me
And I will stand and sing
I am a child of God

The illustration is of the Perfectly created baby knitted in the mother’s womb. As yet with only the knowledge of the love, peace and harmony of the creator and place of his origin.

Two bible verses which come to mind:

Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Luke 12. V 32

“I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.” John 10 v 14-15
