Staying connected is an important key to where we are led next.
It may be that whilst we were ‘Still’ in Lockdown we had some connection with the ‘Still small voice’ of God showing us another way.
The way He would lead us we may have not been as busy and preoccupied with life’s bustle and have caught hold of being ‘ led forth by peace’ Isaiah 55 v12
We may have sensed in our unfamiliar circumstances the Still small voice that said “Come to me all those who are heavy laden and I will refresh you and give you My peace.“ Matt 11 v 28
We may have sensed that God wanted to be connected and walk alongside as He first intended it should be in the Garden of Eden Where he chose to co – Labour and entrust us with authority.
If any aspect of that connection was manifest how sad would it be to get caught up in business and work and life and to let go that hand that we had held for a while to be led and guided by!
Staying connected to feel guided steered and directed would transform us, our minds and outlook. Would be to grasp this opportunity of being in relationship and widening our experience of what it is to be connected to that hand.
By holding tight always we will not experience the sense of feeling lost again.
By holding on tight we will be guided towards what is good and right and will start to take on the likeness and produce good fruits.
By holding on tight we will allow God to gently discard, incline us away from what is not the way.
Pruning back and redirecting is not a punishment it is a wisdom gained because alongside every success can be a temptation to be guarded against.
Gently He will hold us tight and draw us past such pitfalls and we will flower and flourish all the more for that loving guidance.
How wonderful would it be for us to stay tightly connected and see the garden of our life and family to continue growing in beauty, fruitfulness and peace.
A place to wander with God in the cool of the evening.
A place to hold close to the hand of Jesus.
God wants to transform each of us, our families, our societies, our world. We must stay connected to enable this revival in His Kingdom.
The illustration is simply staying connected by putting our hand in His hand.
‘ put your hand in the hand of the man from Galilee’
Two scriptures that come to mind are:
For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you. Isaiah 41 v 13
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John10 v 27-30
