Storms of change bring a new normal. Also radical rebirthing to better.
Lots of changes begin with a shaking up and an unsettling of what has been. Without the shaking up, getting rid of and reordering things carry on in the same old.
It feels a bit like that opportunity is with us right now. We have been shaken by the events resulting from the threats of the pandemic.
We have despaired of reporting from Global sources, Governments, NHS and Media and have pondered upon where to invest our hope.
We have been challenged to our core.
Agitation can lead to change and a place of crisis to an improved new.
Shaken but not traumatised gives God an opportunity to Recalibrate, Reset, reboot and to get rid of what does not come from Him. To get people’s attention.
Perhaps more people than we can imagine have tuned into giving more attention to listening to His spiritual voice and have become more aware of their inner needs, the needs of the earth and World.
Perhaps we have become more aware of pettiness and of all the worldly idols we have been bowing to. Perhaps we have been playing and now is the time to be shown what is real and to give attention to.
Perhaps it has given us attitudes of thankfulness, resulting from our discomfort, for things so often taken for granted.
We seem to be in tune with a gut reaction towards what has been making us sick which previously we had been too interested in the symptoms to be mindful of the source and reflect upon its nature, origin and effects.
I sense again and again a cry out to not let the agitated dust settle and become the same old but rather filter it, sort it, refine it, blow away the unwanted and let the important shine out and become resplendent again. Healthy and purposeful.
Jesus and the Holy Spirit will step into what God has made clean. We will flower and blossom again in the renewed space. Love will reign again.
The illustration is of us having the gut feeling, the insight to sense this move of the spirit enlightening the body to be cleansed and fed by the Holy Spirit.
To bloom and flourish and know that With every petal God loves us.
To take our place worthily in this world and eternity.
The dove represents the Holy Spirit. Coming to make His home within this cleansed and renewed body.
Two scriptures which come to mind:
“that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love,”Ephesians 3:16-17 ESV
Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness. Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays gives you light.””Luke 11:34-36 ESV
