Respond to His call to linger and wait.
Wait!! Seek knowledge, understanding and My wisdom.
It is a privilege to linger upon The Lords words.
To cup our ear to hear more keenly.
To wait upon the Lord.
We would linger because we have seen Him, Love Him, trust Him and find Him Beautiful and all that our heart wants to be with.
“For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere.I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.”
Are we positioned to hear and willing to obey? Ready to move with Jesus in His way?
Even if that means it is different.
Do we honour and trust Him?
There is almost the sense that New is ahead. Are we attentive to wait and listen or are we going to put our fingers in our ears as a Petulant child, who doesn’t want to hear it is bed time, might do in defiance of that call?
Even if the Lord were to be tapping and prodding and drawing us to His bidding would we fear it, not want to change from the comfort of the old familiar?
Do we trust and obey?
Walk humbly with the Lord?
Maybe it is not the time to do as it has been done.
Whatever we discern to be from the Lord it would be rebellious to show contempt and be complacent.
To presume and assume.
Wait means Linger a while for His wisdom and instruction, not running on ahead to do our thing.
Let us embrace the mind of God, the almighty creator of all, knowing Him to be perfect.
“Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live;
The illustration is pretty self explanatory. It shows the direction being spoken by Jesus as He shares His heart. The one choosing not to hear, fingers in the ears because they want to control their own way forward. The second listening intently, ear cupped to catch every word intentional to trust and obey. The spiritual sound waves transmitting the words.and receiving them.
Three scriptures that come to mind:
“So listen, my sons and daughters, to everything I tell you, for nothing will bring you more joy than following my ways. Listen to my counsel, for my instruction will enlighten you. You’ll be wise not to ignore it. If you wait at wisdom’s doorway, longing to hear a word for every day, joy will break forth within you as you listen for what I’ll say. For the fountain of life pours into you every time that you find me, and this is the secret of growing in the delight and the favor of the Lord. But those who stumble and miss me will be sorry they did! For ignoring what I have to say will bring harm to your own soul. Those who hate me are simply flirting with death!””Proverbs 8:32-36 TPT
