The hidden secret place.
Spending time with God is transformative.
He doesn’t demand that we do but he does beckon us as if it would be what He would love too to spend time with us.
The hidden place becomes almost not us being hidden from others but us being hidden in Him for a while.
Where He encompasses us and we abide in Him.
He can restore us.
Set us to zero again where we can set off again consecrated, unburdened, unhampered free and purposeful, Intentional in our relationship.
This part of Psalm 27 in The Passion Translation says it perfectly.
“Here’s the one thing I crave from God, the one thing I seek above all else: I want the privilege of living with him every moment in his house, finding the sweet loveliness of his face, filled with awe, delighting in his glory and grace. I want to live my life so close to him that he takes pleasure in my every prayer. In his shelter in the day of trouble, that’s where you’ll find me, for he hides me there in his holiness. He has smuggled me into his secret place, where I’m kept safe and secure— out of reach from all my enemies. Triumphant now, I’ll bring him my offerings of praise, singing and shouting with ecstatic joy! Yes, listen and you can hear the fanfare of my shouts of praise to the Lord!”Psalms 27:4-6 TPT
Within the life cycle of a butterfly there are 4 stages. The egg, caterpillar, chrysalis and butterfly. The middle part is the most transformative because after the caterpillar has eaten itself full to capacity it hides itself within its silk cocoon and literally dies as it is metamorphoses into the beautiful butterfly.
Our spiritual cycle with God can be likened where we feed ourselves with The word and Truth of God to the point where we hide ourselves and rest a while in Him.
We can die to ourselves and become alive in Christ and so are transformed into the beautiful child of God He knew we would be.
Just as the pupa stage of transformation for a butterfly is a very vulnerable stage where it needs the protection of the drying cocoon around it so God protects us as we transform.
He hides us, keeps us safe as if in a cleft in the rocks as in Exodus or the Psalms.
He invites us to cleave to Him, stick close, hold fast to and He shields us from all harm.
Or as a mother hen shields and hides her chicks under her wing.
She invites them to nestle close to her.

Three Scriptures that come to mind:
“O God, how extravagant is your cherishing love! All mankind can find a hiding place under the shadow of your wings.”Psalms 36:7 TPT
“no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”Psalm 91:10-11 ESV
“And the Lord said, “Behold, there is a place by me where you shall stand on the rock, and while my glory passes by I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with my hand until I have passed by.”Exodus 33:21-22
