A move of God is more urgent now than ever.
The same fire creates a temperature that will Transform.
Melt wax or harden clay.
Give opportunity to be offended or to be blessed.
Or stand impervious, be fireproof.
Jesus stands offering His gift.
He wants not to send any away empty handed but there are those with their arms already too full to extend a hand to take His gift.
Jesus offers the gift to all with no prerequisite.
It is offered particularly to those with nothing or those humbled.
Those who’s arms are too full already of themselves cannot reach out and accept Jesus’ gift.
There is a need to be hungry, thirsty and empty.
Healthy people have a healthy appetite.
Often when we loose our appetite it is a symptom of something is wrong.
‘ Blessed are they who hunger after righteousness.’
It is God who writes the prescription and imparts in touching us.
He will not act in obedience to how we perceive but rather the reverse.
We humble ourselves to receive.
We repent of when in arrogance we want only to do things our way, our sense of order and control.
To be baptised in the Holy Spirit is to be immersed in God.
All else is eclipsed in significance.
We are in wonder.
Whatever else is in our hand can be dropped in our eagerness to take what He gives.
Our obedience and faith is irresistible to God.
The very first miracle Jesus performed was before its time.
When Mary asked the servants at the wedding to do what Jesus told them and water was turned to wine. Her expectation was irresistible.
What Jesus gives is a gift to enable us, not a reward to adorn us.
We cannot win the race without first the gift to run it.
It is not the perfect, in need, it is those without to receive.
Two scriptures that come to mind:
“if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV
“Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!”Psalm 139:23 ESV
