“Let there be Light.”
These are the first words God speaks out loud in Genesis.
Amazingly, it occurs to me, as well as creation words, they are a war statement!
To terrorise all darkness.
In verse one of Genesis God creates heaven and earth.
Other areas of scripture show that Satan and a third of the angels in heaven rebel and God casts them out of heaven to earth.
The first half of verse 2 describes the earth into which they are cast in four words equally describing hell.
Formless indicative of ruined, chaos.
Empty indicative of being void, nothing good, therefore wicked and barrenness with nothing alive, wasteland.
Dark, indicative of misery, joyless and therefore death prevailing.
Deep as of an abyss of confusion with no escape and return.
Satan and his followers reside in this place hidden in the darkness.
The second half of verse 2 says: “and the spirit of God was hovering over.”
After declaring Light in verse 3 it says in verse 4 that God separated the Light from the darkness.
By the end of chapter 1 He has created man in His image to have dominion on the earth and partner with Him in the spiritual battle which has also been birthed.
It is Satan’s desire to paralyse us into inactivity or tempt us to oppose God and to become powerless.
To strengthen his side of the battle of darkness but we are God’s image bearers of Light.
We are being relied upon to bring more Light.“Let there be Light” is the battle cry, the solution.
Christ has also been the solution.
Born also as man in the world as Gods image.
Healing the paralysed and revealing God’s intention and purpose.
At the cross Jesus was stripped and died to strip and disarm the powers and authorities of darkness and triumph over Satan.
Satan has already been outmatched but has yet to be annihilated finally when Christ returns.
Meanwhile our Light exposes Satan’s works of darkness in the world.
We partner only with God never with the demonic and witch craft which has infiltrated in all sorts of supposedly innocent ways.
Even at this time of year with Halloween we need to choose our side and remain loyal to it.
We are God’s image bearers.
“Let there be light”.
The weapon in our hands.
“Be not deceived”
Have wisdom.
JK Rowling is an author who operates from a witch craft community. Satanism.
The source and therefore influence of her books is Satan giving glory to powers of darkness.
Conversely CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien stories like those of Narnia, The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings stem from Christian sources.
Authors who never suggest any other God existing other than our one God and the parallels drawn from the literature point to a greater understanding of Christian theology.
Now more than ever our wisdom in our choices counts.
We make a difference.
We all deserve to know the side we stand for.
How to discern the different sources of darkness and Light.
