The hope lies in the greater reality one day and that now is only momentary.
God is our Hope
Hope is our anchor in all things.
It keeps us steady in the storm.
It stops us shifting and becoming lost.
It stops us drifting and becoming aimless.
Hope is not optimism because sometimes that can deny reality.
Hope is acknowledging the reality and difficulty of the situation or circumstances but that there is still a reason for hope.
The hope lies in the greater reality one day and that now is only momentary.
God is good.
“We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain,”
All that Jesus has taught us gives us confidence that we will have His peace because He has overcome the world.
It would be a false belief that this knowledge of Him would bring a reward of a trouble free life in this moment, that our wish list would always be complete in this moment but it is the hope of and in what is to become.
The great hope of God with us.
Emmanuel.
This is what gives us patience in affliction, a steeliness and resilience.
Deeper and richer hope in.
I Am.
The God that Isaiah 43 prophesies.
The Jesus that the hope in Romans cuts through.
“Let this hope burst forth within you, releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times.”
Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think.
This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.
We acknowledge that suffering and affliction are part of this life.
Our assignment for ourselves and others is to bring hope
into hopeless situations and challenging days.
Recognise that people struggle for hope in diverse ways.
Feelings of abandonment, out of control, losses, guilt, fear, purposeless, pain, hurt, despair, disappointment.
Be patient in Affliction.
The illustration shows all that is of hope and God being in the Spectrum colours. The anchor is ours clinging fast in that whilst darkness passes.
Ultimately all will become light and there will be no darkness.
Four scriptures that come to mind:
“We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain,”Hebrews 6:19 ESV
“And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!””John 16:33 TPT
“Let this hope burst forth within you, releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times.”Romans 12:12 TPT
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Romans 12:2 ESV
