“For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace”
Celebrate with Gratitude what joy!
If Unprecedented was the word for 2020 perhaps as we enter 2021 the honest word would be Uncertainty.
God is giving us a clear sense that we have been in a place of “going through” but also a sense of that it is not for “ going back”.
How are people going to be healed from their possible feelings of being exposed to crisis pending, brokenness, failure?
Thanksgiving is an entry to God.
Thanksgiving is a way of life.
To share what we are thankful for opens a door way for others to follow.
It becomes a vehicle to God.
Church will be that vehicle.
Church will be people who heal in a way the world cannot.
Church will become a standard that the world looks to.
Church will become the coveted standard set.
Church will regain its relevance.
Generous celebration heals and restores Our celebration begins at Christmas.
We celebrate and give thanks for the birth of Christ into the world and our lives.
We enter into the dynamic thankfulness that God will not leave us shattered or hopeless.
Hopelessness will pass over and not destroy us.
We will know determination because of our anchor in the rock that will never fail.
There will be the pivotal point turning us from failure to victory.
God will have the harvest, the redeeming of souls from hell to heaven.
We will mirror that victory and have our inheritance and celebrate with gratitude and joy.
God has been preparing us for a return in 2021
The world is looking for answers and wisdom that it fails to find within societies structures.
Answers that we have faith to answer.
Healing and recovery that we live.
A past that is unnecessary and inessential.
A new where church is an essential service owning a key of thankfulness and gratitude that has been our healing.
The world will recognise there is a distinction as the light of the Lord shines in the darkness.
We will become a sign and wonder wherever we are.
Cause for joyous celebration.
A Christmas game to share round the table this year might be to find 3 things that we review in 2020 through the lens of Gratitude.
These may be the beginning of what will always be on our lips as testimony that God is Good
It might reframe our reflection of 2020 and tell the story of God’s goodness and faithfulness.
Liberate us from darkness to Light.
The illustration shows the dove, the hope of the world, flying out to bring new life, peace and Joy to a world. Just as in the flood of Noah’s times she symbolised a new beginning with the hope and promise symbolised in the rainbow.
Scriptures that come to mind:
“For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”Isaiah 55:12 ESV
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”Psalm 100:4 ESV
“I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.””Genesis 9:15-16 ESV

Morning Jan,
My waking thoughts this morning, at 04:45!! Were about a Dove with an Olive twig, I lay still for a while hoping to have the significance revealed, but it wasn’t, so instead of worrying about the day I thanked God.
I looked up Doves in the Bible, apparently they are mentioned 46 times.
Noah- a symbol of peace (olive) sent out 3 times,
3 represents the Trinity?
Leviticus- sin offering
Song of Solomon- a thing of beauty
Hosea – easily deceived and senseless!
Luke – Holy Spirit
John – peace
Matthew – innocence
So interesting!!
