Jesus’ words of caution 2000+ years ago where the Religious influencers and the political contradicted Jesus and His kingdom.
“And he cautioned them, saying, “Watch out; beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”
The same caution in current times for our twenty first century!
When He spoke of yeast it symbolised how a very small particle can multiply and have significant influence.
How interesting that legalistic religion creeps into Christianity with such devastating effects.
That Governmental leadership can pollute where it has only its own agenda of self promotion.
Do not be deceived by the enemy is paramount.
Become more discerning of what comes from God and what from man in one of the enemies guises.
The enemy who is the master of cosmetics camouflaging reality.
To discern is to learn how to look through God’s divine lens.
It enables us to walk alongside or towards God in unity as was always His intention in Eden.
He ordained weakness and contentment and dependency and rest.
His provision to be enough.
Wherever we see striving for self importance and independence and dissatisfaction and toiling to be best and favoured and first, it is not His intention.
The divine lens exposes.
God seeks people, churches and Nations who are dependent on Him.
He rises up for to protect and give provision.
‘When we are weak then we are strong.’
Those who elevate themselves are brought to their knees.
They require the potter’s hand to bring down and reform as Jeremiah was taught in the Potter’s house.
The illustration shows our eye viewing through the divine lens to discern and expose Light into the darkness.
Four Scriptures that come to mind:
“And he cautioned them, saying, “Watch out; beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.””Mark 8:15 ESV
“For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything. Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ, so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs.”2 Corinthians 2:9-11 ESV
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”Ephesians 6:10-12 ESV
“O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter has done? declares the Lord. Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel. If at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom, that I will pluck up and break down and destroy it, and if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I intended to do to it. And if at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will build and plant it, and if it does evil in my sight, not listening to my voice, then I will relent of the good that I had intended to do to it.”Jeremiah 18:6-10 ESV
