“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.”
We return a different way to how we left.
We recognise that there are aspects in the world and culture that are hostile and create atmospheres that the enemy pervades.
God calls us to be those who shift that atmosphere combating the pollution of such spiritual warfare.
Scripturally He gives warning for political and religious disruption. We hear it in voices of consistent criticism, lies, hatreds, side taking.
“Watch out; beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”
We feel irritated at the voice opposite to God’s heart.
Voices which have self and no compassion, judgemental frequently based on appearance, argumentative, preferring divisions and separation, mis interpreters and therefore misrepresentative to discredit, going with the masses instead of the one voice of reason.
There is wisdom of being guarded towards the influence of what is being said especially in the war zone of the media voice revelling in the tone of panic.
Be distinguished by quiet authority as Jesus was. Think differently.
“Do not be conformed to the world but be transformed by the renewing of the mind”
Step aside and pray.
Especially for those opposing and offending our reasoning and belief.
Refuse to subscribe to hate and to partner with the enemy.
Those who hate my stance of knowing the kingdom’s love, purity, righteousness being true to the guidance discerned from the Holy Spirit give me the biggest opportunity to show love.
It is easy to love those I like.
Returning love for hate received is what Jesus would do and is the greater miracle maker. The higher road Jesus would have us walk.
There is a call to change. Change our outlook. Change our direction Be open to change our ways.
We may have spent a life time on a different road but it is never too late to return by a new direction.
The direction the Lord points us on.
The illustration shows the way forward is not to return to old ways but to turn to a new direction and echo Jesus in voice and be set apart in shining brightly in the darkness.
Four Scriptures that come to mind:
Better to camp out in His presence than be in splendid mausoleum.
““For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”Isaiah 55:12 ESV
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.”Isaiah 55:8 ESV
“And he cautioned them, saying, “Watch out; beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.””Mark 8:15 ESV
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”Romans 12:2 ESV
