Wilderness wanderers are those who go in circles doing what they want to do disobedient to what they have heard from God.
Doing what we want to do is self focused and not Jesus focused.
Rest is when we stop calculating and start believing. Die to self and enter into eternal rest.
Only those who obey can believe and only those who believe can obey.
When we wrestle with God as Jacob did it is only when exhausted we reach the submission and rest that we come into the blessing God has for us.
It is a revelation to us when we come to the understanding that we cannot walk by ourselves.
We have to empty ourselves of self.
We reach that understanding often by opposition.
Our recognition of faithful comes from experiencing unfaithful.
Our recognition of love comes from experiencing hate.
Our recognition of rest comes from experiencing unrest
Jesus is who He says He is .
We recognise Him by experiencing who He isn’t.
Jesus is the finished work, the sabbath.
The 7th day. The rest.
The sabbath is for us .
We are not for the sabbath.
Jesus clearly defines this to the rule fastidious religious community.
“For the Son of Man exercises his lordship over the Sabbath.”
The Lord brings His people into rest by unrest.
Into unity by disunity.
Into love by hate.
He tells us when to take our hands off the plough and rest and if we do not listen He will remove our hands for us.
He knows our needs and the needs of the land and it is to meet these needs that He ordains such rules as the 7th day, 7th year sabbaths.
He provides during the fallow it is symbolic too of the principals of His spiritual cycles.
All teaches and trains us in trusting His Wisdom and word. He is our refuge.
2020 has been a hands off time allowing God space to put His hands on .
A time to be separated from the past, rest and prepare to step into new 2021 and on.
We have been arrested from running away and for obedience to be made ready for His harvest.
The illustration shows the multitude of harvest ready to be birthed following the obedience of rest and sabbath. The light pushing the darkness back.
