God lavishes His love on us.
He has chosen to adopt us as His heirs.
We legitimately call Him our Father.
His words of comfort and security are :
“Fear not for I have redeemed you. I have called you by name you are mine.”
We are His child and he lays claim to our lives. We have already died to ourselves and belong to God. It is not something we have to still do He has already done this. His word is in the past tense.
The secret of Jesus power was that He was the beloved son and belonged to the Father and was Completely dependent on Him in all things.
God is lonely for us when we do not remain close and in intimate proximity and relationship to Him. In living in us His love can flow through and out of us as He pours it in.
We can constantly thank God for that privilege in our worship.
We are chosen to belong to Him. We are part of His plan. We are no accident. We were part of His plan from before creation began. We will always be loved on and into eternity.
God’s love for us is perfect and poured into our hearts and as we acknowledge that we are His we can give Him all of our heart and remain in Him.
We are not a child at a distance but intimately His.“Abide in Me and I in you.”
God expresses His love by giving.
He gave His son. He gives us His fullness in His grace. He gives us forgiveness. He gives us a dwelling place. He gives us His gifts.
We can encounter Him.
Receive from Him.
Surrender afresh to Him.
To encounter God is always to encounter Love. We can be transformed by this so that we serve others as Jesus did.
We can then become attractive to others. Like a magnet to draw others to God.
We can sow love and grow the harvest of Love. Love in actions are always perfect and meet needs.
The illustration shows the cherished child loved by God. That gift of love poured in and through to be light to push darkness back.
Two Scriptures that come to mind:
“But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.”Isaiah 43:1 ESV
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.”John 15:4 ESV
