“The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.”
Do not wait any longer. Be the one and the church you want it to be.
There is no point in standing in an empty goal where there is no action anywhere near.
You may shift into a place to transform.
Just as the Liverpool goalie Alisson did when he scored a header goal for his own team, an unheard of, because he followed an instinct to be in the corporate game with a longing and hunger to win.
How identifiable with going with being where God prompts us suddenly and not where others would put us.
We are here as a corporate body but with totally unique purposes.
We will miss the point of this time of reset if we wait to be ordered and organised into another set of restrictive organised structuring allocated by leaders if they are not prompted by the Holy Spirit.
Our corporate hunger, longing and desire to meet with God in His way and choice, not ours. Totally from the heart is what makes it no longer pointless.
When we hear God with clarity we will not seek permission to behave in a special way in response we will just respond as He provokes.
We may be undone and undignified but there will be no right or wrong to conform to.
What goes on in Church is never a pantomime or performance to please us it is a corporate occasion to meet with God.
We are not meant to be polished, glossy professional show case.
God’s desire is to remove the pantomime attraction, the costume, the veneer.
It is the place for the lost and vulnerable to be met with in raw authentic, desperation. To encounter the intimacy of the healing devotion in the presence of their Lord.
It is the place to discover the whole hearted mutual devotion and there to exchange His life which He sacrificed and cost us nothing.
Not an exchange worthy of our being half hearted, limp, Luke warm over but deserving of our passion and all.
Instead an exchange as vital as that of oxygen through the alveoli air sacs to the blood to give us life.
God breathes life into our being. His breath is the Spirit.
It is not a time, place or occasion to look for being entertained on our terms. We come to lay our baggage down and be set free and to encounter life changing love.
“To set captives free”
Jesus does not see us as our history of sin but as His bride to become as one with.
We are a new creation.
That lonely, disheartened, ashamed self we knew is a new creation in Christ worthy of a crown, robes of white and a place in His heart.
He meets with us corporately in church as His body. Individually in our private place and in the world by our reflection of His desirability.
The world seeks and needs God. We as church are those to show and share Him.
The illustration shows the alveoli air sacs filled with life giving oxygen breathe in the natural for the gaseous exchange and with the life giving Spirit breathe of God in the spiritual. The light pushing back the darkness.
Four Scriptures that come to mind:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,”Luke 4:18 ESV
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.””Revelation 21:3-5 ESV
“The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.”Revelation 22:17 ESV
