“Whoever wants to know me and receive my wisdom, come and dine at my table and drink of my wine. Lay aside your simple thoughts and leave your paths behind. Agree with my ways, live in my truth, and you will find righteousness.”
In Proverbs we discover Wisdom is Jesus. With God from an eternity past, before creation.
Anointed before time to be the Word and the Truth. The knowledge and councillor and our Saviour poured out into creation in the Old Testament or Torah. Part of the seven aspects of His spirit revealed in Revelation.
The Old Testament writing of both Proverbs and Song of Songs were written by King Solomon and were prophetically the Good News of the New Testament BC before Christ.
The New Testament proper of course was not written until after the life, death and resurrection of Christ AD.
Wisdom is therefore part of the spirit breathed into each of us as we are given life. Even before we get to know and develop a relationship with Jesus as a human being we know that inner voice. “ fountain of understanding within us.”
Throughout our life journey of experience we get to recognise the Wisdom and choose to say “yes” or “no” to the promptings of our knowing.
We develop a mindset and belief around this knowledge, understanding, guidance and revelation of the spirit.
As Jesus knocks at the door of our hearts we become convicted to choose Him, ourselves or the worlds voices.
We get to chose whether we open the door and invite Jesus and His Holy Spirit fully into our lives and to dine with Him in intimacy.
“Behold, I’m standing at the door, knocking. If your heart is open to hear my voice and you open the door within, I will come in to you and feast with you, and you will feast with me.”
We must hear the voice of God over our own or man’s. We must choose to receive.
The Light is then shone upon our path. We walk more confidently by Wisdom.
In this new intimacy and relationship we are more sensitised to what is in His heart and align with it and separate ourselves further away from sin.
“Wisdom pours into you when you begin to hate every form of evil in your life“
We discover in His love for us self worth, value and our true identity. That we are the apple of His eye and collectively grow in readiness to become the bride he awaits.
“This is the secret of growing in the delight and the favour of the Lord.”
The illustration shows our intimacy with Wisdom as we say yes to Jesus and die to I . The spectrum whirl of the dance of the Holy Spirit and Trinity before creation when the Word and Wisdom were with God. The light pushing back the darkness as the revelation unfolds.
Nine Scriptures that come to mind:
“Wisdom is a gift from a generous God, and every word he speaks is full of revelation and becomes a fountain of understanding within you.”Proverbs 2:6 TPT
“Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Don’t think for a moment that you know it all, for wisdom comes when you adore him with undivided devotion and avoid everything that’s wrong.”Proverbs 3:5-7 TPT
“In the beginning I was there, for God possessed me even before he created the universe. From eternity past I was set in place, before the world began. I was anointed from the beginning.”Proverbs 8:22-23 TPT
““So listen, my sons and daughters, to everything I tell you, for nothing will bring you more joy than following my ways. Listen to my counsel, for my instruction will enlighten you. You’ll be wise not to ignore it. If you wait at wisdom’s doorway, longing to hear a word for every day, joy will break forth within you as you listen for what I’ll say. For the fountain of life pours into you every time that you find me, and this is the secret of growing in the delight and the favour of the Lord. But those who stumble and miss me will be sorry they did! For ignoring what I have to say will bring harm to your own soul. Those who hate me are simply flirting with death!””Proverbs 8:32-36 TPT
“I will show my love to those who passionately love me. For they will search and search continually until they find me.”Proverbs 8:17 TPT
“Listen to me and you will be prudent and wise. For even the foolish and feeble can receive an understanding heart that will change their inner being.”Proverbs 8:5 TPT
“Wisdom pours into you when you begin to hate every form of evil in your life, for that’s what worship and fearing God is all about. Then you will discover that your pompous pride and perverse speech are the very ways of wickedness that I hate!””Proverbs 8:13 TPT
“Whoever wants to know me and receive my wisdom, come and dine at my table and drink of my wine. Lay aside your simple thoughts and leave your paths behind. Agree with my ways, live in my truth, and you will find righteousness.””Proverbs 9:4-6 TPT
“Behold, I’m standing at the door, knocking. If your heart is open to hear my voice and you open the door within, I will come in to you and feast with you, and you will feast with me.”Revelation 3:20 TPT
