BREAKOUT POSITIVE THOUGHTS. 353 ( Less is Greater, Greater is less ).

“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”

When we come to the end of our resources we discover His.

Walking by the spirit is much as when we pull in the oars and put up the sails.

It is not by our striving, our fleshly desire to be in control, but in our rest and submission to be taken, that we come into step with The Holy Spirit.

“If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.”

The Holy Spirit comes into our lives bringing witness of the truth of who Jesus is and the love He has for us.
The knowledge that He exists and the understanding of the revelation that His word brings to us.

“The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,”

The Holy Spirit comes into our lives with the conviction that we in the natural are sinful but that in Him we have no sin because God is merciful and forgives and Jesus in His death and resurrection atoned for the sins of the world.

We are righteous heirs seated at the right hand in heaven.

“I baptise you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

We keep the Holy Spirit alive in our lives in worship and praise and the impartation from the laying on of hands and fanning the flame into fire.

“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

There is a renewing of the mind that enables the spirit and soul to dominate our body and flesh. He activates our gifts He transforms and brings power. He commands a respect of becoming a new being in Christ not just nominally but in every word and action so that we do not grieve the Holy Spirit.

“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamour and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

We have a responsibility not to quench the Holy Spirit by rebellious or careless unrighteousness.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.”

The Holy Spirit is like a battery. The battery provides the power that keeps movement and action. It needs to be correctly connected at all timesworking. Damaged, neglected, corroded or absent and there is no power.

The illustration shows the Holy Spirit as the dove at the baptism, the Spectrum as the power and light. The light pushing back the darkness.

Eight Scriptures that come to mind:
