“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
We must not be preoccupied by crisis but by Christ.
When we remain fixed and focused on God He can abide in us and we in Him.
“He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.”
When we think about ourselves only, a stone becomes over the tomb. We increasingly abide in a place of darkness and death.
When we direct our thoughts to Christ the stone is rolled back by a resurrection power. Light pours in and we arise to step out in faith and crush the enemy underfoot.
The secret place does not mean a physical one but an illuminated spiritual place that becomes our reality.
In scripture it says David was a man after God’s own heart in both the OT and NT.
“But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought out a man after his own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”
“And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’”
It was because David spent so much time in seeking God’s heart that he knew it intimately and they became as one and his habitation.
Because God was his focus he remained fearless when others were oppressed by fear and he was enabled and driven to praise and worship in all things irrespective of circumstances and feelings.
“My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.”
Praise came out of his mouth and he was in a spiritual place that filled and strengthened him.
Our thirsty soul can become satisfied not only on the word that we eat and take in by mouth but by the words that come out of our mouths in worship and praise.
They bring us into the reality of joy and peace regardless of what surrounds us.
God, Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit only, supernaturally in the secret place, can transform us into this reality to abide and rest in.
There is beauty in that place where miracles become reality because of the love that abides in that heart. Healing, resurrection and restoration become reality. Revival becomes reality.
Heaven and the kingdom on earth.
The illustration shows God with eagle wings spread out to shelter the secret. A Spiritual place where light emanates and illuminates pushing back the darkness.
