BREAKOUT POSITIVE THOUGHTS. 389. ( Less is Greater, Greater is less .

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

I’m sure I can’t be the only one to return to church knowing that I have changed and am different from the person who stayed home the first week churches were locked down due to Coronavirus.

We have an opportunity to choose to turn up at the house of God to share what is raw in us. Allow others to nourish us again and salve our pain and to reciprocate that.

We have all had some common experience of trauma pop up before us that has levelled some ground and constructed some bridges of understanding and compassion.

How do we enter the open door to become a corporate body again with honesty and vulnerability and in the knowledge that we are all in need of even more from our family. In the knowledge that many orphans seek a home too.

In need probably of more encounter and togetherness opportunities than Sunday morning alone can provide. In need of a new life style and focus.

In isolation, alone, we have all made our own strategies to medicate our own pain, needs and trauma.

There is a tangible need to be able to share and validate our own stories so that we rob the hold that there has been over us of the power to influence the rest of our lives as the enemy would hope for.

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

There is a vulnerability that we can share in our family who know us as we are and who love us as we are.

Where broken and weak in pain we can share.

Pain overcome within the kingdom and family where there is love and caring it does not belong to the enemy who makes it more toxic.

We transfer and propagate love when we can bring it into the kingdom of God and find resolution and solution and create an atmosphere of healing, care and love for the other as necessary as our own.

A single pebble of honesty can shift an avalanche to expose relief, peace and readiness to progress together into unknown territories we sense God teetering on an edge ready to outpour into.

“How enriched are they who find their strength in the Lord; within their hearts are the highways of holiness! Even when their paths wind through the dark valley of tears, they dig deep to find a pleasant pool where others find only pain. He gives to them a brook of blessing filled from the rain of an outpouring.”

We don’t have to all be in agreement on every detail of our preferences over our worship and some aspects of theological beliefs. Love is boundary less.

Our prayer is more that we know each other. Know each other’s choices, needs and wants and it ‘undoes’ us. That we try to weave the different strands into the beautiful picture of a diverse reality of truth, wholeness and of unified hearts in Christ.

God has been at work in each of our hearts and we may have become familiar with being ‘undone ‘in our own private places.

It is impossible to be undone by God in a discrete way if we are in a corporate place and gathering.

Being all buttoned up perfectly may be a thing of the past and old religiosity.

It may look an untidy, raw, an unholy mess but God will be with us in the measure that we are with Him and with our brothers and sisters.

He honours and meets us in our ‘undoing’ and it becomes a blessing.

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.”

In our gathering He will show up in the measure that we let our guard down.

As family we are not acting unilaterally and alone or professionally but corporately being vulnerable and loving more deeply and falling into the template which will become the ‘new.’

In our authenticity pain will come and be shown and be dealt with and in that place the new will evolve out of the ashes of privacy, pride and concealed.

Out of it will arise the sacrificial purity of heart befitting the bride of Christ.

Revival of a church as single minded and on fire as the first that arose and recorded in Acts.

The power of God and revival will only come in the corporate place where guard is down, vulnerability is shared, love abounds and the gospel of the Kingdom is made known to everyone in word and action together.

The illustration shows our breakout from the ruins and ashes of religion into the illuminating light of the Spirit. Fog of old clearing new visibility to push back the darkness.

Four Scriptures that come to mind:

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:23-25‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:1-2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“How enriched are they who find their strength in the Lord; within their hearts are the highways of holiness! Even when their paths wind through the dark valley of tears, they dig deep to find a pleasant pool where others find only pain. He gives to them a brook of blessing filled from the rain of an outpouring.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭84:5-6‬ ‭TPT‬‬

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:2‬ ‭ESV‬‬
