“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
Inhabitants of heaven and believers on earth are one community even though it may seem like two realms it is a communion of Saints in a sacred community.
The frequency of heaven is love. The truth is light. There is an abiding in the rest and shelter of the Lord. There is a simple rhythm of union where Enoch chose to walk arm in arm with the Lord every day of his life which numbered 365.
It was a walk of ecstasy, joy and rapture. A walk and union that many others including mystics and prophets have experienced and which is a walk that God desires to have with His people in this next age.
In history Christianity was birthed with Pentecost where onlookers thought the early church followers of Jesus were intoxicated with wine when in fact it was in ecstasy in the Holy Spirit. A people full of joy.
How can we have lost so much of that joy? Have turned back to being enslaved by religiosity and the world’s ways? Become bewitched, cursed, by our self righteousness instead of being hidden in Christ’s righteousness?
“But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more?”
Paul knew and wrote how God delighted in his ecstasy and in his being out of his mind and that he only sobered himself again to communicate with others.
“If we are out of our minds in a blissful, divine ecstasy, it is for God, but if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit.”
In worship and ecstasy in God’s presence we experience a bliss and union that lifts us higher into an expansive place of wonder and revelation that can overwhelm our emotions.
The mystery of it often wrecks what we think we already know and challenges us into even deeper mysteries and revelation.
We are transported and fixed upon the divine. We have to be willing to trust Him in stepping into the unknown.
God honours ecstasy when we read accounts of the mystics and many who have been rapt in the Spirit. Predecessor who have encountered and experienced moves of God and revival.
We personally may have been more used to gentle encounters with God but we are on the edge of more intensity. When we taste the wine of this new life we will only want to function in that place.
John experienced the joy of the ecstasy and rapture when he was ravished having his visions recorded in Revelation.
“I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet”
There is intense knowledge and more revelation in a beam of light that comes from this other realm than ours and we are being invited to make space for this and to engage with it for God to do what He wants to do.
“For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.”
We’ve lived so small. Seen so little. Heard so little.
“and he heard things that cannot be told, which man may not utter.”
There is a bridge for us to cross. There are two truths for believers and we can chose which way to go. Jesus is the way.
It is the narrow path of love that births us into the next age of the church. Into light, illumination, union and immortality. It is opened hearts in communion with Christ’s heart.
“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
The illustration shows the ecstatic intoxicated joy of being in unity with the presence of Christ. Light bursting forth into the spacious atmosphere pushing back all darkness to emanate in visible magnetic attraction to all.
