We are precious to the Lord. God created us and gave us life. We are never alone.
Not only are we within in His own heart but also by the commanded guidance and upholding of His guardian angels in our lives.
“For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.”
We have our refuge in Him cleft in His heart. The Holy Spirit communes within us. We are guided, steered and cherished but also have our freedom to choose both our dwelling place and direction.
“Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge— no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.”
Our reward comes when we catch recognition of God’s kingdom and are obedient to it as we make the right choices which must have foundation in our true self. That which was firstly within God’s fearful and wonderful making and designation of us.
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.”
In life’s journeying we create a false self too based on our aspiring for success in appearance, social and professional ladder climbing. Some parts of our self we are called to die to whilst those parts of our soul created by God to live on eternally.
Like Jacob we run hard and acquire much but at some point we lay our head upon a rock and have a eureka moment as he did, seeing angels ascending and descending from heaven, it dawns upon us that God has always been there and we have not known it and that much of the false self has to die to regain the purpose of our true self.
That which God purposed us for will be our eternal self, not all the self our life embodied and climbed after.
The true self passes on after our body dies. Some of our self acquisitions cannot go beyond that curtain with us.
Humans are always imperfect in this world. Perfection is a mathematical concept not human. Sadly humans knowingly and unknowingly can be complicit to suffering.
Jesus in suffering became our saviour and He continues to walk into the future. In the now He makes the difference he is not antiquated, stuck in the past. He is in the now and moving forward and calls us, His church, ‘to come’ and ‘ go’, to let go, not hang on. Transform suffering to joy.
Love always has to expand.
We are good, life is good becomes our real self in communion with God. Our spirituality becomes an experiential knowledge.
God doesn’t love us because we are good or worthy. God loves us because God is good. Radical grace. He uses even our imperfection.
Our humility is in knowing we don’t know! What sounds like an impossible or arrogant statement if it is from Christ it is truth.
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
God loves things by becoming them. Each one of us is God’s expression of what He created and breathed life into.
We all bear divine DNA. God is Good, God is Love, God is Light. There is good, love and light in all of us.
He is inclusive, He sees us as He created us. We have His potential. What He says is truth. When we face reality we meet God.
We have freedom when we see He was there all the time. He is infinite and incomprehensible but we can know Him.
He gave us our dignity from the beginning when He chose us in Christ before the beginning of time, before the world began. We had our part.
“even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love”
The illustration shows God’s command of angels to guard and guide us keeping us in His light and letting it emanate from us to push back the darkness.
