“And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.”
There are many biblical indicators in prophesies as to what the world will become like.
Jesus Himself clearly spoke the above which has many familiarities with our present times.
Most of us sense a being on the brink of new and our attention is drawn with anticipation to what else is discernible.
Those with faith know of the anticipation of Christ’s return and that like lightning could come as a flash at any time.
“For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”
But we are also fully aware that we have a patient God who desires that non should be lost and that all have had the opportunity to hear the gospel and have had the chance to choose to know Jesus Christ.
“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
We are aware that for 2000+ years there has been speculation, anticipation and expectation in those of the church and Christian faith to the point now of there being impatient scoffers or complaisance or disbelief.
“knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires.”
For as much time given for all to hear and commit there has been equal time for others to drift away from any sense of urgency or mindfulness. To neglect the truth and to rebel against belief.
“Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.”
While the enemy lulls us into off guarded sleep there is a strong sense of the tugging of the Holy Spirit for us to get up onto our feet, become alert and to become aware and active.
All other systems of the world fighting for control. News and media becoming the false prophets of Baal. Shifts afoot to bring conformity, compliance, boundaries, self preservation are rooted in anti Christ. In a spirit of the world that is contesting to be god.
The calamity that we seek to escape from has only one redeeming hand. The hand of God is not too short to reach us.
“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear.”
The turning around from wickedness and repenting reconnects us God the Father. Opens our eyes and belief to the good news of the gospel.
“but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.”
The church is the only body of people who know Christ amidst all the other world systems that are antiChrist.
We are those specially placed to bring the good news to others for God to save the souls of so many He has patiently waited for.
God blesses us with the opportunity to bring a revival into being where we all feel and respond to the raising of His hand and the pulling of His Holy Spirit.
The gospel is the power. Jesus is the answer.
The illustration shows us Spirit filled with the spectrum light and tugged by the Holy Spirit towards God, towards Light. Tugged away from the darkness and our emanating light then pushing more darkness back from the world.
