“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
This above is describing Jesus.
“ all things were created through him and for him. “Therefore if we were created for Him our life is not our own.
If we respond to how God has created us to be We were created for His pleasure .
We can take ourselves off the throne of our own lives. We can stop being a slave for ourselves and become a slave to Him.
We can surrender knowing that that does not bring us loss but gain because He loves and cares for us totally. He will look after us better than we can do for ourselves.
Jesus knew He was the Son of God. He knew His identity .
What we and others saw as radically different in Jesus was His norm.
He needs us to mirror Him. He needs us to know our identity in Him. He needs us to be radically like Him as our norm. Not a false facade but the real deal.
As surrendered we become useable and moveable people.
To surrender in the kingdom does not mean to loose or admit weakness, as it may in the world, but the opposite to win and gain strength.
The sound is of chains broken and falling to the ground to set us free. Liberty not imprisonment and bound.
It is the heavens opening and heaven coming down. Open Heaven exists where the Holy Spirit is .
“But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
What is beyond Human repair or achievement is not beyond God’s.
We are becoming increasingly desperate to be in His presence and conversely more aware of the need to deconstruct ourselves to give it our all. Our self preservation of being in control weakens as we become more willing to trust and to say “yes “.
It demands our immediate response. No delay or hesitancy. More of a willing obedience.
Like when Isaiah said “send me”. Like when Mary said. “ if it be Your Will”. Like when unquestioning Noah built the ark in the middle of a desert.
It is the trust to fall back and know without doubt that He is there and that He will catch us.“ The Lord is on my side as my helper.”
The illustration shows our trust to surrender to Jesus knowing He cares for and loves us more than we ourselves. His light emanating to push back the darkness.
Three Scriptures that come to mind:
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”Colossians 1:15-17 ESV
“But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”2 Corinthians 3:16-17 ESV
“The Lord is on my side as my helper; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.”Psalm 118:7-8 ESV
