“But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.”
There is a strong sense of this being a time where we are being reintroduced to the Holy Spirit .
We know in our academic mind the Holy Spirit is omnipresent and as sovereign a person in the Trinity and Godhead. We know a sense of relationship with Him. We know His power and His description.
But the sense is of getting more to grips with His fullness in the same way as we have prioritised God and Jesus in our lives is now fully upon us.
There is a sense of needing to repent of asking Him to come and waiting on Him when we know He is already there.
There is a sense of possibly closing some doors to Him for fear of uncertainty of His manifestation perhaps not seeming to be in our control.
There is a greater sense of us wanting Him on our terms and not being as open to wanting Him on His terms .
Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit are not in competition with one another but in complete unity. The sense is the question of how comfortable are we about the presence of all three and if that is as equal?
This is the time where the authority of the Holy Spirit in all aspects of our lives is paramount and on His terms not ours.
To take stock and be confident, comfortable and willing in any circumstances. Be prepared for more of Him than the pleasure of the tingly touchy-feely. Prepared for Him to fill in the gaps and create the whole story.
In our prayers and songs we ask for Him to ‘take over’ for His ‘fire to fall’ and then we may run away from what that entails!
When we are put into the circumstances and situations that would demand us to fully rely on Him and not on ourselves there is a commitment, abandonment and a trust that can only be learnt in practice not theory.
The Holy Spirit equipping of us will require an unveiled existence of union.
Jesus tore the veil on the cross and made the way for the power of the Holy Spirit to abide in and upon us . The reality of there being no walls or barriers is ever more relevant in this era.
It is back to the foundations in Creation. Back to the truths in Genesis.
We were created to be in unity with divinity not in separation.
That unity with all persons of the Trinity is paramount and for some it is the Third person of the Holy Spirit who is stepping to the fore front to be introduced and for us to receive more anointing from.
He is the authentication of creation, love, wisdom, truth, power, authority. The communicator of the Father’s heart and the Son’s kingship. He unites us one to another and to the Godhead.
The illustration shows us with the final part of the greater revelation of the the Holy Spirit ready to fill Our spirit being bringing light to push back the darkness.
One Scriptures that come to mind:
“But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.”1 John 2:27 ESV
