“Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.”
God allows us and leads us into testing situations. He is not phased by our frailties.
In these He can demonstrate His strength and mercy. In these he can space our momentum and discipline us forward to a place of more glory.
It is a learning curve to acknowledge we are vulnerable but in that place of vulnerability we learn the most.
Our honesty to knowing ourselves to be vulnerable, weak and even sinful enables us to be real.
We learn to carry our pain, aloneness and heartaches with a confidence that we won’t be stripped out, rejected because we are loved.
We learn greater flexibility with ourselves and in community. When we repeatedly seem to keep circling around circumstances exhibiting the same problem we can ask God. What is it I am not learning?
Repetition can reinforce.
We may even pray for things and quickly forget our accountability to it more rapidly than He does.
We may curse outcomes as being from the enemy when in fact it comes from God’s courts as a spirit of testing.
One theological debate of Genesis is whether the serpent is Satan or ‘the satan’ spirit of God’s testing challenging.
Jesus on multiple occasions leads His disciples into a storm situation trusting them to steward it well and learn from it.
To take authority over and to rest in peace in Jesus.
“And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?”
There is purpose in what God does. We can rely on Him doing impossible things. We get a clearer perception of His kingdom.
His lessons enable us to trust and to recognise that He is in control and that we can rest assured and have peace.
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
The story of Jonah reminds us to forgo our opinions, prejudices and self righteousness and in obedience trust God’s place and timing.
He was spat out of the fish in the right place and time.
That in alignment with God destiny is accelerated.
With our gaze upon Jesus miracles are possible as was Peter’s walking on the water towards Jesus.
We have to come through some testing storms, miracles and wonders to be those who go when Jesus says “come” do so.
“Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
When we fail in anything it is not a time to curse and reject but a time to embrace and to learn.
He is in control. Love covers a multitude of failures.
Training in the natural informs skills in the supernatural. Our God of peace will train us, like Christ, to crush the enemy under our feet.
“The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.”
We are storm riders unafraid to stand ground, contend and turn a storm.
The illustration shows the standing in the storm or walking on the water victory even in failing and light emanating to push back the darkness.
