“He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.”
God is the one who’s voice is meant to be heard not ours.
To be still and listen to what He is speaking will put us on the right agenda instead of the folly of our own to do lists.
“For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” But you were unwilling,”
Nimrod building his Tower of Babel exhibits that man will build what man will build in lack of understanding and in offence to God.
“They bend their tongue like a bow; falsehood and not truth has grown strong in the land; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they do not know me, declares the Lord.”
When we align in God’s time and season every man hears and understands in their own language as happened at Pentecost.
We need to guard our tongue so that what comes out of our mouths reflects a good heart, reflects Christ as master. Not carelessly stirring and spreading the evil in the world.
“The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”
James has much to say about the tongue and the damage it can cause.
“So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!”
We inadvertently can be instrumental in enabling the enemy by the negatives or curses we speak into being or the silences where we fail to speak out what God would have us endorse.
“but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God.”
We so often give God a framework of requests that are limiting in our prayers and words. We come with our agendas, desires and expectations that are clouded by lack of understanding.
We miss the opportunity to speak into His Will and give Him space to do all He wants to do. We are the limitation often on the move we cry out for, we miss out as we look in the wrong direction, we are not aligned.
We need radical a overhaul in our understanding and our language and speech. We have become desensitised and need retuning.
“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.”
In past moves of the Spirit the response was to our cry that “we must have God”. This move will respond to God’s cry that He must have us. The whole body, the church, the bride, the apostles, the prophets and more.
Biblically the religious communities waited for a King to lead them. Jesus came because He wanted to serve us.
We now embark on the season not of the church waiting for God’s move it is about Him getting us.
Our idols in the past are cast away to grasp hold only to the Holy Spirit as He moves.
God has so much more than has been in the past. We stand on new shores. As for Joshua , He moves and makes a way for us to rise.
The illustration shows the voice and tongue recognising the power of Christ emanating light and pushing back the darkness.
