“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
We are in the table turning days of not tolerating what is not as God meant it to be. The days where we are righteously indignant at what is evil or wrong.
The days we spontaneously erupt to liberate the kingdom.
Jesus publicly called demon spirits out of people. The public in His days recognised demon attack as a primary source and therefore evil far more directly than we have become desensitised to being aware of.
Acts of Deliverance in the church have been secreted away as if it brought shame instead of freedom.
God is identified as the only one in power over such acts and the testimony of observing this has been lost and denied. It has been the enemies ploy and lie that deliverance publicly will put people off God.
We run to Jesus, not away, is the core truth. Those born of ‘water and the Spirit belong to Jesus” but can still be attacked by the enemy.
We can all fall to temptation and sin in this world but are forgiven when we confess. God wants to purify His bride. The Holy Spirit convicts us of wrong doing and is sovereign in our lives.
“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
We also have need of the wisdom to know that which had its right time in history but is no longer a means to that rightness.
David had need to break the bronze snake that Moses had forged in obedience to God’s command to release the faith for the Hebrews and rescue them for that moment in time but not to become an idolised false god that it morphed into over time.
What was birthed out of a word and move from God staled into a monument only because God had moved on and had more. We must not resurrect what has become only a monument.
Some things that launch our faith are not meant to be gone back to. As Ecclesiastical words portray there is a time and season for everything under heaven. All times are given an opposite that equally will have a time.
God stands and says.
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
We are not looking for a revival of anything of the past but we move on from glory to glory and the Holy Spirit will bring its new revival to a dead or sleeping body.
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
Jesus casts out what is not of Him.
We think a measure of success in the Church of being backed and accepted and popular. Of having large buildings and large numbers attending. These are worldly measurements.
Jesus looks for a victorious church. Measured by being Christ like, Holy, Pure, Good stewards, ready to be countercultural, revolutionary to the world, intolerant of all that is not of God, probably persecuted.
“But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings, sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated. For you had compassion on those in prison, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one.”
We ride the storm not flounder under it.
The illustration shows the hope as the rainbow riding over the storm clouds emanating light that shines pushing back the darkness.
Six Scriptures that come to mind:
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”2 Corinthians 3:17 ESV
“Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’”John 3:5-7 ESV
“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”James 5:16 ESV
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”Isaiah 43:19 ESV
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”2 Corinthians 3:17-18 ESV
“But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings, sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated. For you had compassion on those in prison, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one.”Hebrews 10:32-34 ESV
