“Now we’re no longer living like slaves under the law, but we enjoy being God’s very own sons and daughters! And because we’re his, we can access everything our Father has—for we are heirs because of what God has done!”
When we give our lives to Christ we know our status.
We are kingdom people who know who we are and whose we are. We have given ourselves over to His ownership and care. We are His property. His dwelling place. We belong to Him.
“Have you forgotten that your body is now the sacred temple of the Spirit of Holiness, who lives in you? You don’t belong to yourself any longer, for the gift of God, the Holy Spirit, lives inside your sanctuary.”
When we talk in legal terms of ownership of property we would term it having the title deeds and legal rights to ownership.
There is a security in being in that place of covenant and authority.
We can be guilty of forgetting and not feeling that security. We may have been careless and if so are in need of reclaiming and committing.
If we are dismissive or forgetful of the significance of our place being in the kingdom and that we are the dwelling place of Jesus, unwanted squatters in the form of enemy influences may get a foot hold and then a stronghold and then build their tower of strength and usurp our place.
Space, rightfully for the HolySpirit, is invaded.
If we neglect our birthright as born again, as rightful heirs, we appear to want to possess illegally and would need to take action to identify ourselves and reclaim what is our inheritance.
“So if the Son sets you free from sin, then become a true son and be unquestionably free!”
The enemy will delight in pushing us out and the onslaught of His attack may be such as to require the service of an eviction notice to illegal tenants, to repossess what legally is ours.
God is always strongest and as we stand up and declare and decree we can confidently take back what is ours.
Take possession of what God has for us. What Christ has redeemed and taken for us. What we have inherited in the divine DNA of the kingdom.
“Everything we could ever need for life and godliness has already been deposited in us by his divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing him who has called us by name and invited us to come to him through a glorious manifestation of his goodness.”
Now is a time to clarify and know who we are and what we possess. Time to re-examine the written word and documents.
Gather together anything that is missing. Contest any confusion over rights. Sort out boundaries that have become broken down. Generously replace loss where corners have been cut.
Assert our authority. Be on the offence and not the defence. Be more than conquerors.
“Yet even in the midst of all these things, we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors, and his demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything!”
God identifies us as holy and raises us up. We rise to be welcomed and seated in the courts of heaven as rightful heirs alongside Christ.
“since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.””
It is His desire that we partner with Him.
Release what God fully intended. He owns us and has full rights over us. The church is God’s. We are God’s by our own choice.
As we cleave and bind ourselves to Him we equally bind and discard the enemy.
The illustration shows us a temple and dwelling place of God. On fire and consumed by His Spirit only. Emanating Light that pushes back the darkness.
