“Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.”
Go low, go slow. Rest and trust.
Both of these statements are counter cultural to our busy proactive lives in the world! Yet these are the words we sense God speaking over us still.
How do we position ourselves in such surrender and obedience when it would seem we need to be utilising tools and acquired skills to keep on travailing with?
Culture is not designed around rest and light burdens but God is. He values our contemplative soul connecting with His Spirit to experience Him.
From that place of yielded, unity He can infuse us with His strength, peace and joy.
He can then move on our behalf and it is Him at work and not us. His words and sound we speak out and not ours.
Culture is geared to striving, pushing, climbing, shouting and being heard above.
To carry out our call of God and live it out we need to abide in His rest first and have our soul restored.
“He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
The Lord is being our shepherd leading us to rest and restoration.
His word is active and alive in us and can be activated in our rest time consciously or subconsciously.
His life and words must flow through us for us to become life givers.
The enemy will try to usurp our rest just as Sanballat jeered and attempted to rebel and undermine Nehemiah’s intentions to rebuild.
“Now when Sanballat heard that we were building the wall, he was angry and greatly enraged, and he jeered at the Jews.”
People may criticise and plot against but if it is God’s Will and command nothing must be allowed to deter and come against.
We are beautiful in God’s eyes and loved deeply.
“Behold, you are beautiful, my love; behold, you are beautiful; your eyes are doves.”
His Light contains knowledge and in times of us resting in Him, Christ can embrace us and penetrate His illumination into us.
“and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”
We are already sealed with Him in heavenly places because the living God is indwelling in our spirit.
We have become the ark of the covenant, holy of holies. We live from our internal union with Christ and are therefore in heaven and upon earth as He is.
Our spirit is a doorway in and out of the kingdom. We have His light to transmit and reveal. The light that all of creation is groaning for.
“For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.”
Everything multidimensionally responds to the words of the creator spoken of in Genesis and John as The Word. Darkness ceases to exist.
He is teaching us to co-create with Him to bring His Will into being through His Holy Spirit in us.
The doorway is us resting in Him and He in us as we Go low and go slow. Rest and trust.
The illustration shows us, low, prostrated resting in the presence of Christ. The doorway to His kingdom of light. Emanating His light to push back the darkness.
