“For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.”
We sense the promise of more and an impending pouring out and yet we feel like a double bus trapped under a bridge that can’t go forwards and can’t go backwards.
Our instincts cry out and want to move forwards but we don’t know how.
If we align with heaven and speak forth God’s words we conclude that we are not in a place of chaos, fear or doubt because that is not what comes forth from God.
We are in a place of mystery.
From ancient of times the ancient of days is always working.
Daniel as a seer prophet was blessed with knowing the solutions and he could give people the opportunity to pursue what God was foretelling and forewarned.
The Holy Spirit is our discerner so that we too can remain moving in the flow.
Conformed to His shape and flexibility accommodated as a river that gives freedom to accommodate without restriction where that flow wants to move.
Man made canals restrict and contain what flows in them and give no freedom.
Human constructs freeze and limit flow where as God’s or natural rivers burst their banks and overflow extravagantly as the flow has its own way.
We practice long term cycles of resistance but must be prepared and accepting of the “suddenly” that brings forth the incredible that are not stuck.
“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,”
Canal flow cannot cope with what accumulates as debris and it requires frequent dredging and clearing to remain operating. Rivers keep flowing and shifting what impedes in the process.
God opens the windows of heaven and pours out blessings upon us. He will meet our need in supernatural and miraculous ways.
“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.”
He wants to break us free of our tolerance of being captive and to set prisoners free.
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
God doesn’t call us to to only survive and just manage but to abundance multiplication and increase. To heading in triumphant procession .
The kingdom has liberty and hope at its core.
We need a Caleb spirit to go forwards and inherit what is promised and ours.
The things of God have no shelf life and best before dates. We are not out of time but exactly where God wants us.
Moved as a lioness would her cub. Out of danger but in access and ready to use what we have currently learnt to go forwards.
Just as we can sometimes smell rain coming in the air so we can smell. We can smell something of wonder imminent.
“For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.”
God does incredible things over and above all expectations.. When we celebrate in the small greater will come.
When our diet is from the spiritual provision there will be a taste and smell for hope.
The illustration shows us breaking free from captivity and taking hold of our promise. Light emanating to push back the darkness.
Four Scriptures that come to mind:
“For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.”Isaiah 60:2 ESV
“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,”Luke 2:13 ESV
“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.”Malachi 3:10 ESV
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”John 8:36 ESV
