“Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.”
The Holy Spirit came to the disciples and birthed the church at Pentecost fifty days after the resurrection. It is interesting how His work continued the work of the incarnate Jesus on earth. How He worked within and upon the believers of that time.
There have been times and occasions of the manifest evidence of the Holy Spirit always but of the three persons of the Godhead perhaps to some He is the least known.
God has need of us knowing and depending on the Holy Spirit more than ever now as He prepares His people to be those turned to, responded to and ready to take responsibility as He topples corrupt leadership and systems in the world.
We sense now to be the time He is making the body, the bride ready through the Holy Spirit.
We are in diminished truth if we do not know the Holy Spirit well.
“And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment:”
The Holy Spirit is not a momentary visitation when we say: “ Come Holy Spirit”. His dwelling is ongoing within and upon us.
Even when we may be unaware He is tangible, sensed in a moment as He remains with us. Ongoing in our heart responses, mind and thoughts, physical reactions.
No other creature created on earth or in heaven has the privilege of receiving the Holy Spirit except us.
He enfolds and indwells. We are fused together. He expands like gas to fill all parts of us. He brings the full spectrum of light and sound energy into us.
Jesus tells us how He is working out what is to be through His Spirit after He has returned to the Father.
“concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer;”
When we are born again in our knowing and faith in Jesus it is in our Spirit that we reconnect. Where the revelation and truth become part of our being.
“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”
It is in this place of rest and knowing that we can have peace in a world that is the opposite. Even in the world we are seeing today.
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
It is the Holy Spirit within that causes us to pray for God to search out all that is grievous to Him. Where we are convicted of good and evil, right and wrong, and have the plumb line of knowing His Will and the desire for it to be ours too. Where our holiness comes from so that He calls us saints.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”
The seed He has deposited in us is brought forth. We become willing to be brought out of confinement and to be delivered.
The willingness to let go of our control, our pride, our distractions, our rights. The willingness to apprehend, not let go of, trust, be led by to submit to the Holy Spirit.
“Shall I bring to the point of birth and not cause to bring forth?” says the Lord; “shall I, who cause to bring forth, shut the womb?” says your God.”
These are the doors the Lord is asking if we are willing to go through now? Be birthed into?
The illustration shows the person filled with the Holy Spirit as He fulfils the last part of the picture. The light emanating to push back the darkness.
