“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.”
Now is a time of building hearts and connection and lingering. Not for lots of activities and business.
Our heart and soul is the home for Christ and the Holy Spirit. We are His dwelling place, His temple, His tabernacle.
He created us for no other rhyme or reason but to be the vessel to be filled by Him.
Home is where the heart is. Heaven come down.
We are called to live lives of conviction. He places His finger into our heart to remove all else which is not Him. To make room for His indwelling.
To convict us that we might be ready to emerge as a new version of us with His Holy Spirit within ready to come forth. To be released in full flight to unite in thought, heart and word in His identity.
When He holds the mirror up to show us who we are we see Him and others merged as Children of God.
He needs our thoughts and therefore mind. Our emotions and therefore heart. Our words and therefore mouth to be His.
His desire is to heal us mind, body and soul. Therefore touch our hearts. To burn our tongues, our lips to purify them in the flame.
Holiness is what we long for. To be who He sees our full potential as.
Then to live from purity. To love righteousness and to hate sin and wickedness because we want nothing to disconnect us from Him.
From this place we are already saved, living with Christ. Already liberated from punishment that was the finished work of the cross.
We do not have to be defined by our old nature. We are connected, born into being sons and daughters of a loving Father not as criminals of a patient judge.
We see the Father as Jesus does. We have no need to hide behind Jesus we are connected to Him from within.
What comes out of us is an energy as pure and clean as solar power instead of polluted as diesel.
Our motives hinge not on deserving future admission to heaven as reward. Not on fear of punishment.
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. We love because he first loved us.”
We love because He loves us and it is solely on our desperation to not be disconnected from Love.
The person of Christ and Holy Spirit abiding in us and equally the kingdom of heaven’s joy and peace that we are already embraced by.
We are embraced by loving our selves, our neighbour, our enemy because we recognise Christ in all.
“so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”
Being disconnected by violation of our own responsibility. It is our own of loss, not His action of condemnation or punishment.
We parent well when we acknowledge God’s example of leading and showing a love that we do not want to be disconnected from.
We can never control another and make them feel something towards us based only on duty, fear anger or rage.
We parent well by showing unconditional love in all circumstances because it generates the desire to remain connected to that powerful source always.
To never jeopardise or violate that comes then from our own heart of love.
We feel it, we speak it we generate it. It becomes who we are. The fruits it yield ripen into good fruits. Fruits of Love.
The illustration shows the finger of Jesus removing what is not of Him from our heart to make it His dwelling place. Touching our tongue and lips with coals to cleans and burn away words that do not come from Him. Convicting us of our calling in Him that His light emanates and pushes back the darkness.
Three Scriptures that come to mind:
“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.” Revelation 21:3 ESV
““You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. “. Matthew 5:43-45 ESV
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:18-19 ESV
