“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
We have been given the opportunity over the last couple of years where much has been stripped away in our business and distraction to contemplate, observe and prepare.
To be ready to launch into what is emerging with better understanding, revelation and knowledge.
It is as if we have, like Ezekiel, been lifted high to see from God’s perspective the issues and abomination what have become in the world.
“He put out the form of a hand and took me by a lock of my head, and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven and brought me in visions of God to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the gateway of the inner court that faces north, where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy.”
We are in the time of even greater abomination. As if God has had to turn His face and permit the world to wreak its havoc because it has been asleep and blind to what is going on in the darkness.
“Then he said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? You will see still greater abominations than these.”
We as God’s people are the army He anticipates to advance and release the kingdom values as a community together.
Our strategy and planning no longer hinges around finding our individual calling and roll. It has become the answering to the questions of : Who are we? What are we here for to do? Where are we going?
We have a mission, that of submission to the kingdom. To fan the flame of the Holy Spirit Have the Intention to reveal God’s power through the laying on of hands, proclaiming His word and delivering ourselves from the darkness.
We now more than ever are realising our responsibility to live for God and not for ourselves.
As the enemy continues His mission to polarise us with separation, hurt and withdrawal.
It is paramount to see Christ in others and also to discern Satan usurping authority sneakily in those we have expectation of and the discrediting leaders in their lack of integrity.
We have the mandate to release God’s values. To make His principles known. To put our trust in Him to lead and not men of the world.
We cannot be a reformer by being a conformer to that which perpetuates what is wrong.
The heart needs to be fully connected to His and dependent upon Him. Not rooted on earth dependent on our governments, leaders and systems.
“Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,”
God is in control and with His people in the power of the Holy Spirit He will have His way. There will be no more tears.
“He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision.”
The illustration shows us lifted by the hand of God into heavens realm as Ezekiel. To see God’s perspective to know His displeasure and to be filled with His indignation and the courage to stand up for His values. To emanate light that pushes back the darkness.
Four Scriptures that come to mind:
