“But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
God is frequently not creating for us but with us.
He builds upon our response to the way we were designed to be in connection with Him.
In the natural we are consumers who look for the finished product already produced and ready for use.
We have no connection when we have not been part of the producing and creating.
God creates a space where we can dial down to a quietness. In that stillness He can bring forth what is inside us which is of Him and His kingdom.
In the journey of the hearing, obeying and producing we advance the kingdom.
It becomes our passion then to see the will of God done on earth because we are part of it’s being too.
We have to have confidence in the Gospel and the knowledge that what we pray for in our Lord’s Prayer is for the now.
We do not just wait for our passing from this world or for the coming again of Christ.
We have an assignment, as Jesus, to see our land and people healed. That of on earth mirroring that in heaven.
““For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”
Our life on earth is an opportunity to become aware of our purpose in God’s plan for what we were created for.
Being in connection with Him is part of that revelation. God speaks deeply into our lives but by multiple diverse means.
He is depositing into our spirit being and over time the realisation of these deposits unfold ready for use at the right time.
We are prepared in advance in words, dreams, impressions, sensing His presence. All of these are expressions of His voice. He is the word.
When the Word shows up He is a voice. He speaks just by His presence and us feeding upon it.
“But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
We listen to what He says. Hearing is a present tense gift of God when we are seeking and listening. What we hear clarifies our understanding of Him and brings faith.
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
We have been designed to hear God and be in connection with His communication. Our senses are tuned into Him and tweaked and fine tuned by Him to discern.
By maturing alongside a consistent connection to goodness we recognise immediately what is counterfeit and not originating from the authentic.
“But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.”
The authentic underpins us when we are in His presence and surrendered to it. We have faith in hearing and there are no inconsistencies.
Even when we are hearing in the moment and don’t understand but we realise that what we have heard has captivated us.
It’s as if our spirit knows before our natural mind.
We have become sensitive to the fact that He is here and we cooperate in hanging on to the passing thought instead of missing it. A revelation or understanding follows.
We have to take on the responsibility of stopping and turning to receive or perceive.
Jesus taught in parables so that those who don’t understand won’t . The truth is concealed so that only the hungry, seeking or inspired find meaning and revelation.
“And he answered them, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.”
In a crowd the same presence and voice will be heard and perceive differently as it was when God spoke at the crucifixion.
Some only heard thunder, from the natural. Some thought perhaps angels, from the supernatural. With Jesus to interpret, others perceived God’s word and message and had a choice to decide if it was for them or not.
“Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” The crowd that stood there and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.” Jesus answered, “This voice has come for your sake, not mine.”
God is talking all the time if we lean in close to hear because we want to hear.
He answers questions although sometimes not immediately. Having asked we position ourselves to be awaiting the answer in whatever format it may appear.
It is in our design and how we were made to hear God.
The veil is removed when we turn to Him. It is the reward for turning. Having turned there is clarity in what we see and hear.
“But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. “
The illustration shows we are designed to be in connection with God. To hear Him talking to us whether asleep or awake as He, with our cooperation, creates His Will for us and our world. Light emanating to push back the darkness.
Seven Scriptures that come to mind:
“But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
