“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.”
God’s desire is to give us everything He processes. To give Himself yet it seems that He is not enough for us.
It is as if our world has become unsatisfied and blind to the wrongs from taking what is not ours or doing what is not right in God’s eyes.
Nathan confronted David with this same scenario
David was anointed with favour as king and God had given him much and would have given more and yet David had taken Bathsheba who wasn’t his to take.
God has not been his focus. For us Jesus has not been enough.
Nathan reminds David and we need reminding that our actions give occasion to the enemies of God to mock Him.
One act can become the downfall of what previously we have built up for God and the kingdom suffers.
A lifetime of regret for not giving to the Lord what He requires of us.
A lack of self discipline that flourishes when we fear the Lord. Our integrity develops within our character proportionately to the hidden time spent with Him.
People are coming out of the place they have been for a couple of years needing radical authenticity.
As a body of church we have discovered that while we thought we were whole in reality there is much that is broken.
Intimacy and focus on Jesus and the indwelling Holy Spirit must succeed to bring back sight of the Pearl of value.
That which is un-buyable.
Any compromise we have bought into is counterfeit.
Just as David spent 10 years backslidden and not God focussed, lost favour to be regained only when he returned to sole worship and finding favour again.
God is of greater value than anything else.
He is in pursuit of us to be in pursuit of Him
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom .
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.”
Awe and Majesty is missing in many in the body of Christ.
It is our safeguard and will be substituted with other addictions and misdirected needs if it is lacking.
Passion for Jesus will eradicate misdirection totally.
The season is now, for us to come to Jesus and this deep work to be accelerated. Exposing all that God cannot be in fellowship with.
He can only project Himself and therefore cannot entertain or be in sin.
He is only ok to abide in a heart that is as His own and hence our need to live a circumspect life and be holy.
Love and fear of the Lord go hand in hand.
There is a deficit of God where the HolySpirit has been removed and is not centred in the church.
We need to linger in the presence of God and for Him to be tangible and real in those times.
It is from these that reverence and fear grows and contentment to anchor us.
There is discontentment when there is any sense of a mechanical program and performance where man can provide it whether God is present or not.
God present. God moving. Heaven invading is paramount.
There is reverence in knowing there is a God as we perceive His presence and that we have need of being in His presence to be anchored as we realise that what we have otherwise put our confidence in is not holding us.
“Thus says the Lord: “What wrong did your fathers find in me that they went far from me, and went after worthlessness, and became worthless?”
God is heart broken wanting justice for His people but as in Jeremiah’s prophesy so many of His people no longer fear or follow.
As the enemies agenda is for war zones and segregation and all hell is let loose God’s is to keep the enemy in check while heaven moves to de-escalate war and transform people.
As God raises up people with more authority.
As He expose unethical ways and corruption to bring justice.
The enemy is intimidated and rallies forth to a visibility that will ultimately culminate in his demise.
The resurrection power of Jesus and the Holy Spirit are rising above brokenness to transform beauty from ashes.
The illustration shows Jesus central, feared and in aw of. The bathing of the HolySpirit invading us within and without in His presence. Light its source and emanating to push back the darkness.
Three Scriptures that come to mind:
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” Proverbs 9:10 ESV
“Nathan said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul.” 2 Samuel 12:7 ESV
“Thus says the Lord: “What wrong did your fathers find in me that they went far from me, and went after worthlessness, and became worthless. “. Jeremiah 2:5 ESV
