“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
We are in the ambiguous place of sensing being called to the intimacy and rest that we need whilst at the same time being ready to jump into action and go also on a daily basis.
What is very clear is that we are an integral part of the big picture but the thread that we are, is still being wound in God’s hands and that the thread that we are has a unique colour and purpose within a tapestry where the pattern and picture is yet unknown by any of us.
Where it is still open for redesigning as it goes along in a response to developments and choices that are pending.
God in control but in a flexible response to what is yielded to Him.
As we rest in Him we are restored and what comes forth is from that place of overflow.
Yielding to Him, hearing His voice and being obedient is our part.
“He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
God knows how to make us lie down by His still waters also how to lead us in His Go commands and both need to twine together at the same time.
The Holy Spirit nudges us so that we can rest in the wilderness and feast simultaneously.
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”
Nothing has to be complete or perfected before it can be integral and useable. Our joy can be in the making and going not only in the completion.
We can operate in great gifting and anointing in a place where we are being healed and set free simultaneously.
It is allowing the power of God to move through us.
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
We each have a God given part but none of us sees in full only Him.
Meanwhile different parts of the jigsaw connect together and form the fuller picture.
It is as if God too is waging war on the moderate mentality of being in the middle of the road.
A dangerous place of being in position to be hit from both directions. Casual approaches can lead to casualties.
In love, like Jesus, we are being increasingly called to speak directly into where we discern error and to become less tolerant of wrong and more direct in correction.
As if we are in the eleventh hour of needing to make our minds up and to not be Luke warm.
“So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.”
We are marginalised by being casual, impassive, indifferent, easily pushed aside exhibiting fear for man above fear for God.
We need the sharp word of the Lord to cut people free from languishing in the middle indecisively.
Time now is for some brazening colour to be worked into the tapestry. Some extreme versions of who we have become made into. We have all been transforming and reforming.
The product of the relationship between the forming in the secret place and the fiery thread we have now become.
We are ready to be woven into the bigger picture. We are not restricted but confidently freed.
The illustration shows the parts of the puzzle forming the whole picture. The strands of the threads of the tapestry. The light emanating to push back the darkness.
Four Scriptures that come to mind:
