“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
Emotional sharing with another is the basis of a relationship with another on varying levels of intimacy.
It is as we become attuned to them that we sense how internally we resonate with them.
God desires to be attuned with us and was why He sent Jesus into the world incarnate as a man to resonate with our reality and in so doing be our saviour.
His desire being to connect with us so that He understood being separated.
Also so that He could make a way to receive the Spirit of God within us so that we might attune with a God of love and resonate with the internal reality of Jesus.
It is possible for us to posture ourselves and attune any minute of the day and anywhere. We have the proximity and availability to us.
We cannot gain this attuned attachment if we are pre occupied with other concerns. For God’s part we are His total desire just as we are. There is no need for us to be distracted to being busy preparing and cleaning up first. He just wants undistracted connection above all else.
He is our attachment and we can attune and therefore we can build up trust with Him, as we do with some others, developing an emotional intimacy and closeness.
Opportunity to be known and loved is the mutual attraction.
We can develop that sense of knowing His presence always and of never having to feel lonely.
It is more a case of only needing to fill our time and space with other things instead of just waiting on His presence and that being sufficient.
Anxiety closes us up and builds a natural defence around us preparatory to being guarded. Our head becomes detached and swirling and not in tune with our body.
Relaxing and therefore calm we can engage to hear God and respond to Him. Fresh words always bring with them peace, joy and love.
We can learn how to engage the parasympathetic nervous system in our body to be brought into this place by relaxing and closing the eyes, smiling, speaking in tongues or gently calling on the name of Jesus, inhaling and exhaling steadily and purposefully and placing hands on our heart and stomach.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
The intellect brings crowds and clouding to the mind and quenches the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit. We find relief, solace sand satisfaction when we attach and attune.
Gradually we crave and hunger and automatically seek this place. Distance is only created when we are distracted.
He is a transformative resource for us to draw upon. He delights in shining out through us in our every moment of living.
We recognise Him by the fruit he demonstrates in our life.
While the world constantly pulls our attention away from His presence, He draws us back. He is our freedom from all oppression.
The victory has already been won we just have to receive and claim it.
If we feel disconnected it is usually because we are not sharing time, making space. We need to spend time in communion with Him to enjoy each other and affirm each transforming moment.
We become more desperate for this precious presence in our lives and it makes a kingdom and heaven in our lives right here and now and becomes an opportunity to mirror and reflect that light in the darkness of the world that others might taste and see also and know.
Joel prophecies that the Holy Spirit will be sent to all in the latter days.
The remnant who have not been satisfied with mere religiosity but who have hungered for nothing less than the king and kingdom to be revered by all.
“Later, I will give my Spirit to everyone. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will have dreams, and your young men will see visions.”
The illustration shows us attuned with the Trinity and because Jesus was made incarnate, we with each other through Him. We are not alone, we are together in Spirit, emanating light that pushes back the darkness.
Two Scriptures that come to mind:
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” John 14:26 ESV
“Later, I will give my Spirit to everyone. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will have dreams, and your young men will see visions.” Joel 2:28 CEV
