“Children, you belong to God, and you have defeated these enemies. God’s Spirit is in you and is more powerful than the one who is in the world.”
Prayer is the control room. The power centre of authority. God is pushing us to a new level to make us ready for the higher level of what He desires to do.
It is imperative to be equipped to discern what is of His hand even though it may initially appear offensive as the cloth with offensive foods upon it appeared initially to Peter in his vision before he realised it’s importance to making the gentiles inclusive to God’s plans.
“He saw heaven open, and something came down like a huge sheet held up by its four corners. In it were all kinds of animals, reptiles, and birds. A voice said to him, “Peter, get up! Kill these and eat them.” But Peter said, “Lord, I can’t do that! I’ve never eaten anything that is unclean and not fit to eat.” The voice spoke to him again, “When God says that something can be used for food, don’t say it isn’t fit to eat.””
Jesus directs us to recognise the appropriate response and action to what He is stirring up in any given moment. We do not want to be in opposition and contrary to His plans.
When it matters we have to be those to be relied upon to have strength to spring into action. Not to be so comfortable, laid back observing as a tourist might, but able to get out of the deck chair and onto our feet for action.
Our strength to do that may make the difference between life and death when it matters. To saving the one struggling.
It lies in our ability to follow orders and lay down our own opinions. Preoccupation and preferences. The hard way is the good way and may be the solution to the victory.
Be part of where God is in the midst of. He is in the battle with us and therefore we have no problem to fear. His hand is with us when we take it to the Lord in prayer He knows and has answered before we have prayed it.
“When you pray, don’t talk on and on as people do who don’t know God. They think God likes to hear long prayers. Don’t be like them. Your Father knows what you need even before you ask.”
We are given two options to choose from. Trust or control. When we are weak we are strong. When we are bankrupt we accept what He offers.
Heaven is calling for everyone to be participating. The word from our mouth to equal the word from God’s mouth.
“Children, you belong to God, and you have defeated these enemies. God’s Spirit is in you and is more powerful than the one who is in the world.”
He who is in you is greater. We are born that way. He reveals this as we worship.
We have to be in or out.
In we participate and engage with His heart choose partnership and not let others do it for us.
We have to not be offended to take hold of the hand that pulls us out of the deck chair we may have become comfortable in and find awkward to get out of again. We have to not resist the transition into new hope, faith and understanding.
To be renewed leaves us on the same level. To transition into the new is a new positioning, a higher level of what God wants to do.
“So keep your mind on Jesus, who put up with many insults from sinners. Then you won’t get discouraged and give up.”
The illustration shows time to get up from the comfort however awkward that feels and be ready to spring into the new without resistance.
Be None offended by whatever pushing or pulling that necessitates. To be positioned for light to emanate and push back the darkness.
Four Scriptures that come to mind:
“He saw heaven open, and something came down like a huge sheet held up by its four corners. In it were all kinds of animals, reptiles, and birds. A voice said to him, “Peter, get up! Kill these and eat them.” But Peter said, “Lord, I can’t do that! I’ve never eaten anything that is unclean and not fit to eat.” The voice spoke to him again, “When God says that something can be used for food, don’t say it isn’t fit to eat.””Acts 10:11-15 CEV
“When you pray, don’t talk on and on as people do who don’t know God. They think God likes to hear long prayers. Don’t be like them. Your Father knows what you need even before you ask.” Matthew 6:7-8 CEV
“Children, you belong to God, and you have defeated these enemies. God’s Spirit is in you and is more powerful than the one who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 CEV
