“Again he measured a thousand, and led me through the water, and it was knee-deep. Again he measured a thousand, and led me through the water, and it was waist-deep. Again he measured a thousand, and it was a river that I could not pass through, for the water had risen. It was deep enough to swim in, a river that could not be passed through.”
The question is whether we will allow the Holy Spirit freedom from where we may have imprisoned Him to birth the new God has for us?
We have become more institutionalised than we realise and God has an upgrade ready if we are willing to become wholly dependent upon Him and not our tradition.
Our trust has to be in being reformed by being totally out of our depth.
Subconsciously we may resist and resent change because of the uncertainty it evokes.
It is a place requiring fast faith to hear and act instantaneously on trust.
It is a place where we move as we sense God’s timing and what to do in it as the Issachar men.
“Of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs, and all their kinsmen under their command.”
The enemy will attack tirelessly to keep us out of God’s timing to rob us as Daniel prophesied.
The gospels for tell also of the signs and gifts to follow our belief and trust in the release of the Holy Spirit.
“And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;”
It takes us to look at the unseen and have trust and faith in what we see there.
These are heralding the kingdom and heaven here on earth.
It is in the spiritual realm that we have our true identity.
“as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
That is why we are asked to pray in the Spirit which doesn’t refer only to tongues but in the Spirit realm connected to the Holy Spirit.
“praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,”
If we look like a Christian enacting in our lives works that we think depict our faith only we may be guilty of being so in our own strength to look good.
Barring being led in the Spirit, however that may manifest for us, keeps the Holy Spirit behind bars, imprisoned and He calls out to be liberated.
The illustration shows the Holy Spirit breaking out from the imprisoning bars we have restrained Him by. Emanating light that pushes back the darkness.
