“And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
There is an authority that we carry that can change atmosphere and silence demons and the enemy. Bring deliverance and liberate.
Our mindset must be not of avoidance and intimidation of domination. It must rather be confidence in the relationship we have in God’s kingdom.
Our holiness does not present as quiet, demure and tame. More so of love with its own ferocity.
There are two kingdoms that of light and that of darkness there is no neutral ground in between. War broke out in heaven and satan was cast out. He doesn’t live in hell he lives in the world.
“The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers,”
People know of and experience sin and evil in the world. They know when they are freed and delivered from such forces. Liberation is like a domino reaction.
Those who are saved, healed and delivered from fear, anxiety, lust, pride, perversions and other demons promote their liberation to others of similar ilk.
Satan was cast our of heaven to earth where he prowls like a devouring lion to be avoided.
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
He has the whiles to tempt even Jesus in His 40 day fast in the desert. Able to trade what he knows he owns.
Jesus quotes from the word to denounce each temptation. He is totally undivided in His choices. Church as the bride equally must be undivided.
Satan is the prince of power of the air, anything that is man made. The human structures of government and religion. Even Samuel I the OT said you don’t want a king as his rule would be a man made structure.
Jesus has to be our centre. That which is Holy Spirit led. God has to inhabit it to be pure and unflawed.
What God creates for a reason has to be destroyed when it becomes idolised for the wrong reason. As in the serpent staff of Moses there for a season as a symbol of God’s power and authority but later the idols had to be destroyed when they misrepresented God.
Instead it becomes like the occult a magic formula to be repeated is witchcraft in a culture.
We have to live in the moving river of God and out of our depth and therefore reliant upon Him alone. We have to keep pace, we never become expert. We defend what we have built with a pride that becomes self satisfying.
Instead we have to acknowledge what God does and we partner with. God always updates His kingdom, it is limitless to fly higher within. His new wine is too powerful to be held in old skins.
We measure from a world’s perspective the criteria for a successful church. We celebrate what looks like our Success. However, a victorious church is measured by scripture.
Is possibly being persecuted as the early church disciples were because it is turning the world upside down. Radical, revolutionary. Not seeking acceptance or permission.
The two kingdoms are not compatible. Not a double act. We are unique. We have to set the standard. Be the change.
“For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.”
Nations are its people not it’s government and politics.
“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?”
We must see faces first they are the hope. They are potentially the faces of God. We put our hope in God it is He who will not let our foot slip. Not the politicians.
“My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.”
The church offers the better way. God exposes where our hope lies.
The illustration shows us, people, radical revolutionary power, the potential faces of God. The kingdom of light emanating light that pushes back the darkness.
Seven Scriptures that come to mind:
