“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”
To shut the door not only implies privacy but also no distractions.
A place big enough for just you and God alone to abide in. The intimate place where nothing is hidden from, only shared. A place to commune together.
We as the bride are aware that what was permissible in the past but which left stains upon us is no longer.
There is a renewed sense not only of purity but also of being ready and prepared as were the wise virgins filling their lamps with more oil.
We too increasing our capacity to overflowing in the Holy Spirit.
“but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.”
Those able to see as the darkness increases are those who do not fall away and betray being part of the believing body.
“And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another.”
As the darkness increases the Lord upon us enables us to arise and shine and be seen as the beacons to encourage others to follow.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”
True purity comes with intimacy. Our prayer and communion time refines us.
The refining to pure gold provides the Teflon that sin will not stick to nor the enemies magnet that will attract fools gold and imperfection to it like Velcro.
To know God and Jesus intimately is the eternal path.
“And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
Our house has to be a house of prayer where we know the voice of God and where we witness His Spirit. Where we ‘just know’. Where we have access to His gifts. Where we increasingly become more sensitive to His presence and ways.
To pray in tongues is a prayer gift that accesses spiritual sensitivity and power. Praying in tongues accesses God’s mind.
No man is greater than his prayer life. If we fail here we fail everywhere.
We must jealously guard time spent with God and not brush it aside in our business. First seeking Him is where we find our strength, peace and joy. Our wisdom, knowledge and discerning.
Jesus is the place where miracles are possible.
The illustration shows hands in prayer emanating light that pushes back the darkness.
