“If you remain in Me and My words remain in you [that is, if we are vitally united and My message lives in your heart], ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified and honoured by this, when you bear much fruit, and prove yourselves to be My [true] disciples.”
God is allowing us an opportunity in the arrest of crisis that we may be finding ourselves in.
A moment as to know what our role as the church and Christian body is.
It is as if we are in a fully functioning car on a destination but sitting at a wheel that we have no idea as to how to turn and steer because we are going blind with no open or clear windows to look through.
The sensible in the natural of that situation is to sit still.
Look forwards with expectation that as soon as there is visibility it will be safe to navigate and move on without damage to anyone and to progress along the right journey again.
In the spiritual this holds true too. The only open windows will allow light, hope and clarity in on our journey. Our destination will be unlocked, unblocked.
Meanwhile in dormancy deep works and pruning can be undertaken to recalibrate the plan God is working out. The crisis is therefore not a disaster but a route and means to an end.
We have to allow ourselves to come under The Pruner’s hook.
To being re-engineered to a new pattern of functioning and expression.
We have belief in being re-equipped to refit after being displaced.
Those who may have felt misfits may discover their place and space.
Ancient paths may be the provision for the new vehicle to carry the gospel into the new generation and culture that God attempts to keep us up to speed with.
The river of God starts at the temple and flows out into the land increasing in size the further away it travels. The power of God is released more as the distance increases from base.
“Again he measured a thousand [cubits]; and it was a river that I could not pass through, for the water had risen, enough water to swim in, a river that could not be crossed [by wading].”
Empowering in richness and fullness because of being taken further the place where it is meant to be. Not behind a fortress with the security of the draw bridge up.
“By the river on its bank, on one side and on the other, will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither and their fruit will not fail. They shall bear every month because their water flows from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.””
Breakout wide and far from being activated and sent out. From no longer driving blind but with visibility and new clarity, new seeds, new harvests.
The illustration shows the vehicle stopped because the windows are blacked out and there is no visibility to know how safely to move forward and the widening depth and expanse awaits to be discerned. Emanating light that pushes back the darkness.
Three Scriptures that come to mind:
“If you remain in Me and My words remain in you [that is, if we are vitally united and My message lives in your heart], ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified and honoured by this, when you bear much fruit, and prove yourselves to be My [true] disciples.” John 15:7-8 AMP
“Again he measured a thousand [cubits]; and it was a river that I could not pass through, for the water had risen, enough water to swim in, a river that could not be crossed [by wading].” Ezekiel 47:5 AMP
“By the river on its bank, on one side and on the other, will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither and their fruit will not fail. They shall bear every month because their water flows from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.” Ezekiel 47:12 AMP
