“Your new life began when the Holy Spirit gave you a new birth. Why then would you so foolishly turn from living in the Spirit by trying to finish by your own works?”
The Holy Spirit is our best friend, a gift to each of us as the church. We cannot minister effectively without Him.
“But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you].”
He is the oil that we must be filled with and maintain being filled with to remain awake and ready
“but the wise took flasks of oil along with their lamps.”
Scripture likens us to earthen jars filled with power which is the Holy Spirit within us. God’s Glory in our lives.
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.”
The eyes in our hearts are awakened to His resurrection power and ready to be that on earth now and to be ready to become the spotless bride at His return.
Those who He recognises as His.
We cannot conjure up our own Holy Spirit oil but it is a gift and one that our revival will carry as God pours it out.
The Spirit arrived with water baptism with John the Baptist. He arrived in tongues of fire at Pentecost. God is awaiting to overflow His oil upon us to fill our lamps.
““And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.”
The illustration shows God in heaven tipping and pouring out the golden balls of the oil of the Holy Spirit to fall upon all flesh that sons and daughters shall emanate light and push back the darkness.
