“for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”
People driven by hunger for answers can be driven here and there and seeking in the wrong places.
Come sit with Jesus and simply grow to recognise His voice
“And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.”
Let us strip things away out of our lives some of the things that make us too busy to spend time at the feet of Jesus to glean His wisdom. His authentic word alone changes us.
“But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.”
Wisdom to reproduce itself has to nourish us. He overshadows us spiritually and provokes us to hunger for more wisdom to be made ready for His new formation. His desire is to excite us to pick up His new and lay down what is now old. Keeping us transformed into His image.
“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
Deep calls to deep is an ongoing transformation to keep us full of the solution He holds. His hand touches places that he has not created. We can know how to walk well and in an established way to both lead others in simplicity and to demolish the enemy.
By soaking in His presence we can come into His courts and know His heart. Gain the wisdom as to what to pursue and what to lay down and so gain freedom.
New means new and all change. There is no sense of duty nor condemnation. There is room at the table for us all to come into our right place of intimacy.
“Sit with me awhile.”
We feel anxious when we feel responsible but Jesus is abiding with us always and takes all that responsibility away but for the asking. We are free to walk well in whatever we are called into if we walk overshadowed by Him.
The illustration shows us drawn aside close to Jesus for a while. Light emanating to push back the darkness.
