“He will go before the Lord as a forerunner, with the same power and anointing as Elijah the prophet. He will be instrumental in turning the hearts of the fathers in tenderness back to their children and the hearts of the disobedient back to the wisdom of their righteous fathers. And he will prepare a united people who are ready for the Lord’s appearing.”
We are moving from a man pleasing season to one only to please God. Wild abandonment to be dressed, clothed and anointed to prepare and make others ready for God’s fire to land. To draw people back to God.
Pleasing people has brought about a counterfeit mixture which pollutes what has to be pure. People will only be drawn or influenced to recognise truth by seeing unmistakeable authentic and real encounters and testimonies.
Only when the wild authentic is woven back into the fabric of our communities and the tamed domestication boundaries of the false are broken down will we be overwhelmed instead of disappointed to the point of falling down on our faces as Daniel and John in the reality of the vision of presence and heaven in heaven as it is on earth.
Our world has become behaviour modified in the darkness where nothing completely satisfies, the quest is always for more and self seeking. The kingdom reveals blessed satisfaction, spiritual reward and quest only for the other.
“And don’t get drunk with wine, which is rebellion; instead be filled continually with the Holy Spirit.”
The possibility of both being hungry always for more but yet equally at the same time being totally satisfied. We have to walk through a divine chaos, a righteous disorder to restore God’s order. God’s spirit comes gushing like untamed water going where and how it wants and taking all with it.
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
Our self sufficiency and need to be in control and order must not push this new thing away. God seeks our permission to have His way because He has allowed us choice.
In Revelation we are aware that the church has to choose to receive the new wine to finish. God destroys structures we have built to birth what He has. Deconstruction and change precedes reconstruction in a place of favour. “Not my will but Yours be done.”
We ask God to write His story and how can we be a part of it as opposed to bless our version of a self penned story.
It is not our entitlement but our pleasure and privilege to participate. He has purposed our gifts to open doors to the kingdom.
“A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before the great.”
We are not just waiting for someone else to create a space for us but we have responsibility to step into and use our gift bring it forth and steward and advance the Kingdom.
It is not about our story it is our story showing what God does and who He is that matters. Beyond and above any of us and yet totally woven into who we are too.
The illustration shows Christ woven into the diverse fabric of the community in all His wild authenticity. Emanating light that pushes back the darkness.
