
“The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armour of light.”
A call to wake up and be prepared for the action of this present hour.
Casting off what has oppressed us in the world of darkness and putting on protection , the armour in the form of Light.
Jesus calls Himself the Light of the World so He is our protection.
Other biblical references to light would also portray that the Light Shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot overcome or quench it.
That Light is given for guidance as the flame by night through the wilderness and the Light unto my feet so that we are not tripped up.
That Light has the power to destroy fear.
The Light reveals God’s Glory, radiance.
The Light can transform us as it changed Saul completely from the Jesus persecutor to the Jesus worshipper.
The beacon on the hill is not hidden it enlightens the city.
We are called now by the prophet Isaiah.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.”
Time for people to see our light and chase after what God reveals to them.
‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’
The illustration shows us holding the Light of Jesus across us as a breast plate or shield to protect us and illuminate us like a beacon of Light to be seen in the darkness.
