“My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.”
We sense a sobriety in God at this time.
As if He is intent upon equipping us for our calling Weaponising us to become part of His solution.
Scripturally that authority rests in how submissive and obedient we have been to His authority
God wants to trust us with wise authority and therefore we must display that we ourselves are under authority.
It is not good enough to have our own opinions and to fight for them instead of kingdom truths.
Wanting to accept and only do things your own way can make us guilty of making ourselves an idol we obey.
Having a mindset of ‘I’m right only’.
It is scriptural to be submissive and obedient to another’s authority whether that is God or an assigned leader.
Ours is not to be rebellious.
Often we could ask of ourselves do we love submission or independence, yieldedness or individuality, obedience or rebellion.
“Submit yourselves therefore to God“.
Even Jesus learned obedience, it’s as if suffering batters some of our independence out of us and brings us to our knees
“In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.”
Reverence and fear are key to honouring and obeying.
The antidote for being self righteous, stubborn and in control.
The illustration shows us on our knees in obedience, in repentance and in submission to God’s authority.
Bringing Light into the darkness.
Five scriptures that come to mind:
“But he answered me, “My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.” So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9 TPT
“Obey your spiritual leaders and recognize their authority, for they keep watch over your soul without resting since they will have to give an account to God for their work. So it will benefit you when you make their work a pleasure and not a heavy burden.”Hebrews 13:17 TPT
“For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has also rejected you from being king.””1 Samuel 15:23 ESV
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
James 4:7 ESV
“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.” Romans 14:11-12 ESV
